Going from Washington’s OC to Bama’s OC is a lateral move? Who you get your sh!t from? I need some of that!
All I can do is laugh at this. $13mil for a HS recruit is just pure desperation. Just a pathetic situation all around.
What’s hysterical is that the very mention of Auburn made you guys pay a guy on a 5-game losing streak $10mil/yr, and it’s a guy YOU ALREADY HAD. Meanwhile, we strike a bargain and pull ahead of OM in recruiting in 1 month. I find it ironic that you people actually think you’re in our heads. Maybe it’s because we don’t ignore you all like we do Mizzou and Vandy fans. Probably need to change that.
Got news for you there bud, Auburn only wanted the guy for depth. No one is disappointed we didn’t get a backup QB. Maybe you need to ask yourself why a 4-year starter would transfer to a program that already has a starter returning. Simple answer is he thinks he can beat out that starter. He chose between OM and Auburn. Be happy you got him because he’s clearly a smart cookie knowing he could beat out Dart over Ashford, because he’s right.
Actually watch the players and games you comment on before you comment. Sanders is SEC backup caliber at best.
I’m not joking. Dart is the joke here. Why would a guy transfer somewhere he’d be less likely to win the starting job with what amounts to be his last chance? Short answer, he wouldn’t, hence his commitment to Ole Miss. come to terms with it.
Probably the smartest pick for Sanders. Highly doubt he’d be able to beat out a healthy Ashford and seems like he knows that with this move. He would have made a serviceable backup for us at best. Really don’t understand the backlash on Lane bringing in competition in the QB room tho. Dart could be the guy, but I wasn’t impressed this past year. Howard was a great get but he’s inexperienced. Smart move by Lane to not settle and make sure he had some starting experience at QB from the portal.
Even if what you suspect is true, being consenting adults is very much relevant. But, by all means, please continue to show us what a pathetic lowlife cocksocket you are.
Auburn does have arguably the best DB coaches in the conference in McGriff and Ethridge, but we have a very crowded DB room. Don’t hold your breathe on this one.
I think you missed my point sds1966. I’m excited how dominant Freeze has been in the portal because that was the only way we were going to save the program from years of mediocrity. I don’t expect Freeze will have to rely on the portal very much after a few recruiting cycles. We just needed a jump start after what we were left with and Freeze is delivering that.
Funny thing is a lot of Auburn fans, myself included, wanted Kiffin for his prowess with the portal. Call me crazy but I think Freeze is dethroning Lane as the portal King. I was sure that we were headed for dark times making a coaching change late in the season with almost all the starting experience we had leaving after this season. Just incredible how he’s rebuilding the roster with quality players in such short order.
Might be splitting hairs but he’s not an All-American RB. He’s an All-American kick returner, but of a difference but definitely a need since Hunter will take over the lead back role so we needed a home run pickup at returner and I’d say an All-American returner is a home run.
Amazing pickup. Should make a prefect replacement for Hunter on returns, if not an upgrade. At least I hope that’s the plan. You gotta figure Hunter will be the lead back and you don’t want him returning kicks.
If that was supposed to sound less salty, you failed. Saltiness is always salty when there’s plenty of salt in the mix.
TheStandard, Auburn has maintained a top15 bluechip ratio for a while up to last year. You don’t get that recruiting mostly 3 stars.
And here I was thinking that “Salt Life” sticker on the back of your Prius was about the beach. Silly me…
I wasn’t crazy about Will Friend when Harsin hired him and he only raised more questions at Auburn. Friend had an O-line coach’s dream at Tennessee. He had 4 5-stars on his line there and couldn’t develop them or get consistency of any kind. I think he is incredibly overrated and have since he was at Tennessee.
Well this complicates fantasy playoffs. Of course, Damar’s health is the only thing that matters. Will just be curious to see how leagues compensate for the deficiencies. I suppose the easiest solution would be to just 0-out the entire week for all fantasy matchups and continue on as normal.
When did I say it was? Grand standing on another’s suffering for ratings, clicks, or self-centered clout is detestable on any platform. Let’s not look for an argument through distortion of context shall we?
Just look on Twitter. Won’t take you long to find it as much as everyone is calling for his head right now.
Jon, trying to include a link to the replay of the hit is completely inappropriate and shows a complete lack of respect for Damar and his wellbeing. Thankfully, someone on the other end of that tweet had the decency to delete it. Maybe you should do the same you heartless POS
First, I want to say I’m pleased SDS had the decency not to include a replay of the hit. It isn’t often SDS does something right, but at least they showed they were human on this one. Idk how many have seen the tweet Skip Bayless put out but it just shows that talentless, spineless, heartless POS hack does not deserve to be employed. Everyone needs to do all they can to boycott anything and everything he is involved in. If there was ever a more fitting reason to employ cancel culture on an individual, he took it to a new level with his tweet. That being said, the game of football is never bigger than 1 players life and prayers go out to Damar and his family.
The problem is the only way the universities can even begin to implement any compensation model is the student athletes would have to be classified as employees of the university or any attempt to control or regulate earning potential would be met with a flood of lawsuits because that would give the athletes grounds for legal recourse for restraint of trade.
The university name already has no business being involved in NIL, but we all know it is just like we all knew pay for play has been going on forever. How would it diminish CFB? How would it diminish the loyalty of the average fan to their alma mater? The damage has already been done and the universities, or their names, have no meaning to athletes anymore. They are all for sale to the highest bidder. Basically, you’re missing my point. If we are going to continue to cry about the lack of regulation behind NIL, yet do nothing practical/legal to address the issues surrounding it, then everyone needs to just S T F U and accept the unregulated free agency that comes with it, period.
This proverbial horse has been beaten to a pulp and back again and it’s really getting tiresome at this point. So long as the athletes remain classified as ‘student-athletes’, there is nothing anyone can do, period! The minute the NCAA, conferences, or individual institutions attempt to control or limit the players ability to benefit financially from NIL, the flood of lawsuits that follow will be biblical. The only solution to this dilemma is to make the students employees of the universities, removing any and all academic restrictions. And I say DO IT! Make them employees and if they choose to pursue a degree from said university, make them pay out of pocket for it.
That poor kid, he got death threats for losing the big game. Florida, Georgia, Auburn and Alabama QBs are rolling on the floor at this, they probably get them year round from rival fanbases.
You put too much stock into Arch. If you’ve watched his HS tape and the competition he faced, without that ‘Manning’ on the end of his name, he’s a 3* at best.
While you’re hanging out trying to troll UK fans about the UT-UK game this year, remind us what the score of the UT@SCar game was while you’re at it.
He’s doing a good job addressing roster deficiencies on both sides of the trenches and it is so refreshing to see.
I thought the same but can’t say I’m really disappointed. If Freeze is able to do half what he has done with past QBs with Ashford, we will be more than fine. We’ll just need depth and I certainly can’t blame a QB of Leary’s caliber for passing us over. I’m sure he’s looking for a place there’s no question he’ll be the starter at.
