Dennis, Oh yes, Hunts has a strong sweet tomato paste flavor. You can cut back on the amount and add it a little at a time, and taste it as you go. I used Heinz in the recipe. It has a nice balance of sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami flavor that blends well with the sweet and sour sauce.
