Todd Monken, Georgia OC, reportedly interviewing for NFL position Tuesday

Todd Monken continues to explore a return to the NFL.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to interview Monken on Tuesday, according to NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. Georgia’s offensive coordinator the past 3 seasons, Monken also recently interviewed for the OC position with the Baltimore Ravens.

Monken, who turns 57 on Sunday, was Tampa Bay’s offensive coordinator from 2016-18 under head coach Dirk Koetter. Todd Bowles will be entering his second season as the Bucs’ head coach in 2023. The club parted with Byron Leftwich as offensive coordinator after a playoff loss ended the 2022 campaign.

In 2019, Monken was OC for the Cleveland Browns before heading to Athens for a tenure that has included 2 national championships and QB Stetson Bennett being named a Heisman Trophy finalist.

  • Hopefully we can throw a couple xtra million his way and he'll stay in Athens a while longer.

However, Brandon Adams said Monk's never been in a position for more than 3 years (maybe 4.) Looks like Monk's M.O. is do a good job and achieve success, get bored, find a new position.

Dude has moved around more than a career military officer.

    • At Monken's age he must be thinking about his eventual retirement and wants Kirby to pay him more $$$. The Dawgs offense has prospered with him as the OC. It'll be worth the $$$ to keep him in the fold.

      • I wish it was just about the money...no, I'm afraid Todd has tired off the 24/7/365 college job and is ready to just go call plays in the NFL from June to January...I can understand that. Recruiting aspect of the job has to be grueling working for Kirby, it's his life blood...

  • Maybe before he goes he can take the rest of the team for a ride in the "recruiting vehicles."

Hell, the worst part about that wreck is that it wasn't the team flight on the way back to that $h!t stain on the map known as athens.

      • What is hell? Oh, you mean that imaginary place people talk about going for bad people? LMAO, some refer to it as Athens! By the way, there's not a heaven either you f u c k i n g idiot.

        • Bless your heart...signing into your old fake Auburn account so you have someone to talk to...just adorable bEagleofWar, err, I mean pos 4prez. I'm surprised the Gwinnet County prison is giving you "library time" on a Tuesday, how many packs of cigarettes did it cost you? Or are you working overtime tonight in shower stall 13?

    • I hope one day you mature enough to where you can look back and feel ashamed about this comment

    • Wow, that is incredibly insensitive. There's always a time for friendly jabs at other fan-bases but you are taking the loss of other's family members and making light of it. Not cool at all. You really should be ashamed of that.

For the record, I'd say the exact same thing to a UGA fan taking the same shot at another team's loss.

      • bEagleofwar is just another of bama fan Kirby4prez's fake accounts...it is sad to see what crack babies grow up to be...

  • Back to back Georgia buffoon …

Isn’t it interesting that Negan’s Georgia’s QB just got arrested and put in the slammer…

    What an outstanding knucklehead…

    Great example for young kids…

    Negan… the buffoon.

    lol!

    • I’m still trying to figure which game I enjoyed the most

UGA embarrassing a #1 rated UT (way overrated)

      or

Watching USCar hang 63 on the team that was supposed to be the best 1-loss team in the Nation and a lock for a CFP slot.

        • Said that last year. They got better. Besides most teams don’t win one, let alone 2 in a row. Tennessee’s last championship is as old as Courtney Loves last album lol

        • Are you like Eminem? Still trying to figure out which Spice Girl you want to impregnate? Hey, he was also huge in 98.

        • It amazes me how going from totally-irrelevant for 15+ years to having only one(1) good year of football has turned the Vol fans into the worst fans in America. They are indeed in a sad state of "Envy".

        • Nah, no envy at all. It sucks that TN hasn't won a natty in football since 1998, but in the grand scheme of things I'll live.

      • Tdowtheloser...

Isn't it interesting that Stetson Bennett was arrested and thrown in jail...

What a great example for kids...
        NOT!

        Go Vols!

      • If comes to hanging the help wanted sign I hope we hire Buster Faulkner. I image Faulkner would do a U-turn and head back to Athens.

I like Mike Bobo, great guy, I just don’t want him as UGA’s OC.

        • You could be right, we can agree to disagree, I think Bobo would be much more effective this go around, he is a really good recruiter, and our talent level is so much better. Heck man, besides Colley who wouldn't we want to play call for this team? It is loaded unlike what Bobo had to work with under Richt. CMR always had great skill players but the front 7 on both sides of the ball now? No comparison. If the worst thing we end up with when Monken bails is Bobo as OC...life is good. Brady would be sweet too and Faulkner would be ok as well.
