Curt Lewis, elite JUCO guard, announces SEC commitment

Curt Lewis, one of the top JUCO guards available, has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Lewis, who is originally from Louisville, Kentucky but who is playing for John A. Logan College in Carterville, Illinois, committed to Missouri for the 2023 recruiting class. The 6-foot-5 guard leads the team with 14.7 points per game to go along with 4.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals. Lewis also ranks 23rd among NJCAA Division I players shooting 49.1% from the 3-point line, attempting 3.6 3-pointers per game, per Power Mizzou.

The one-time Kentucky Mr. Basketball finalist began his college career at Eastern Kentucky.

At EKU, Lewis averaged 9.7 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game last season, after the Colonels moved from the Ohio Valley to the Atlantic Sun, according to CIL-FM.

  • Super. I thought our roster was full but I guess not, or maybe someone is planning on transferring or foregoing their pandemic eligibility next season. Welcome Home Mr. Lewis!

      • It really is a great pick-up. It's the kind of player Cuonzo would spend months putting all eggs in the basket for just to lose out on and have no backup plan.

        • lulz, yea, Quan would have got his little brother who would have been all conference for a half season.

  • Dennis is in the thinking part of the coaching season. Listen to his thinking out loud and ask the question? Can he only lose about 2 more the rest of the season? So yes this news might be lonely in the hope for a 2023 or 2024 Championship run. Basketball doesn’t have to be for the thoughtless crowd, but nowadays there are many that want to park it there
