Connor Bazelak, former Mizzou and Indiana QB, announces commitment to new program

Connor Bazelak, the former Missouri and Indiana quarterback, has announced a commitment to a new program.

Bazelak committed to Bowling Green, and he will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Bazelak finished the year with a 55.2% completion rate, as he passed for 2,312 yards with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. To this point in his career, the junior has completed 62.2% of his passing attempts for 7,370 yards with 36 touchdowns and 27 interceptions.

Bazelak struggled after the Hoosiers got off to a great start.

He competed against Jack Tuttle for the starting job all offseason, and won the job for the season opener against Illinois. He then led a game-winning drive to beat Illinois and sparked similar late-game magic against Western Kentucky to begin 3-0.

  • Bazelak is better than his competition but doesn’t have elite receivers or linemen. He needs to get his interception rate cut in half. He won the job at Missouri honestly but Cook was a true dual threat and has proven to discipline himself away from the Bazelak jump balls

  • Bazelak would still be the likely starter had he stuck it out at Mizzou, that shows you what the QB situation is.

    • How does Bazelak beat out Cook?

Cook clearly wins the dual threat strategy

Cook clearly wins the interception risk

Maybe Bazelak would complete more deep throws, I’d have to see the stats on completions at 10/20/30+ yards % before I give this to Baz.

Seriously, as much as I like Bazelak, please note that he is not moving up the ranks each time he transfers. So the last thing I say about him is super positive. He loves football enough to try to make any team who wants him a winner and I home this transfer make a statistical star out of him…. and his new team.
