Nico Iamaleava, star Tennessee signee for 2023, takes home Polynesian Bowl MVP
I think u get that option to pick your team when you sign up for an account. You would think that you would have the option to add/change that but I don't see it
After seeing Milton in the Vanderbilt game, with the new starters at WR, and the Clemson game I think Heupel can develop him into a good QB. Maybe great. But even if he is just good, we should be ok. We held Vandy to 0 and Clemson to 14. I think the D will be improved..
I heard on a sports talk show today that he may be getting a ridiculous sum of NIL if he comes back (so ridiculous I'm not gonna even repeat it) so if he does end up coming back and then has a long a illustrious career (financially as well as athletically) then the difference in that NIL money and the first year NFL money won't be as big of a deal. Sucks that it always comes down to money. I'd love to see someone come back for the love of the (college) game. And if NIL helps keep players in college for another year, then that is a win for the college game, in my opinion...
Congrats Dawgs on what was the most dominant win in college football national championship history. Great team, great season. Nuff said! See y'all next year!
*re-reading... Good lord
Oh wait no after rebreading was is correct
I dunno. I was thinking the same at first. But I don't think that GA team was losing to anyone last night.
When this Dawgs team is on they are nearly unbearable. I think they would've beat 2019 LSU last night. In the games against Oregon, Tennessee (even though it was more low scoring than the others), and TCU, the Dawgs just looked almost flawless. But then you have to question what happened against Mizzou, Kent St(?), and the Ohio State team that nearly beat them last week (and would have if not for a missed field goal). That same OSU team that got destroyed by Michigan, that God beat fairly handily but the same TCU team. College Football is odd. But I think what it goes to show is that Kirby is a master and getting his teams to feel disrespected, and to get them to play up to the absolute tip of the top of their ability when it's all on the line. It really says something that GA seems to always play their best in the biggest games and on the biggest stages, at least these last couple years. So anyway all that to say, congrats GA! If you're not already you are quickly approaching dynasty status. Keeping the kids humble and thirsty gets harder and harder from here but it seems like you've got the right coach for that. And he can handle all the other stuff too it seems (you know recruiting, development, coaching Xs and Os, etc.). Hoping Tennessee has a coach that can get us to where we can hang with our top rivals each year. Because when your top rivals are Bama Florida and GA, you'd better bring it each and every year, something the Vols haven't been able to do consistently lately...
You are the worst kind of winner. You can't enjoy your victory without putting someone else down. Sad and pathetic.
Tennessee's offense. U mean the number one offense in the country. I know just terrible. Good God get it out of your head for one night and enjoy your title for gods sake...
Every team has them. Not much can be done about it in the age of the internet. No one was beating that team last night. They came prepared and ready to play. I think they'd a beat that 19 LSU team... Last night at least. Congrats!
GA offense frequently called em off once they had a lead and probably could have scored a good bit more. If that's the brand of football that you like to see them hey that's great. GA has a great team. Unfortunately for the GA fans though it leads to a perception that because they aren't blowing out teams by 30 or 40 points that they aren't as dominant as they actually are. Seems to me that a lot of GA fans come off a little sensitive when it comes to this. If you're going to run that type of game then you're going to have to get used to that perception..
We had a ton of 3 and outs in the Orange bowl... But that's just how the game went I suppose. He definitely held the ball a bit too long on a handful of plays and took some sacks that Hooker would have probably escaped from and picked up a couple first downs. But hopefully he'll figure that part out once that happens look out...
Yeah u keep saying that. As if we forgot. Get over it. We have...
That's pretty much what I was gonna say bryanchip... His passing accuracy has come along nicely but I would like to see him run the ball a bit more. His pocket presence/awareness is what I think needs the most work. What the guy has in spades though is that rocket cannon arm. Most of those throws that go over 50 yards he throws flat footed. It's like just a flick of the wrist and that ball comes out... Hard! I bet dude could throw it 80 yards of he really put some umph into it. But, if he can learn to escape when the pocket breaks down and get a few yards instead of eating so many sacks I think that'll help in so many ways. Nothing like a running QB to totally take the wind out of your defense on a third down. Us TN fans know all about that. I really liked the power sweep play we ran with Milton in the bowl game. I'd like to see more of that. He didn't get a finger laid on him until he was 8 or 9 yards down field. And he's bigger than most linebackers... Dude is an athletic freak. If he can just put it all together (have the lights come on as they say), he could have as good a season as Hookers last...
As hard as it was to watch our defense give up so many yards, it was effective... hope we can get some better talent in the secondary as that seems to be our biggest weakness.
Go Vols
Probably the same GA trolls who were saying all year how TN got "lucky" to beat Bama because they missed a FG at the end of the game... I'm not saying that now, but neither do I hear any Dawg fans saying they were lucky to win the OSU game since OSU missed the game winner. Pretty sure it was from around the same distance as Bama's as well... Congrats on the win against OSU. Hard fought game that was closer than I think most of us expected, but I think the better team won in the end, irregardless of luck...
I want to root for the SEC in bowl season, and GA in the Natty game. I really do. But the GA trolls showing up to comment on an article about Tennessee players and fans appreciating and celebrating an excellent season, especially after the last decade and a half, makes it hard to root for GA. You'd think when you are at the height of college football, being the returning national champions and having an undefeated season, that GA fans would be happy. And I'm sure most of them are. But there are always a bunch of these trolls who can't be happy unless they are putting someone else down. It's pathetic. Oh well. I'm sad for ya, but super stoked on where and how my Vols finished the season... Good luck in the game next week Dawgs
For what it's worth all we heard all season was how we were lucky to beat Bama because of a missed FG. Not taking anything away from GA, or TN. Y'all were the ones saying that all year. Congrats on the win. Gutsy performance.. when the game game didn't go "to script" GA turned on more juice.
Nebraska? Oklahoma? Not sure but seems to remember one of them 3 peating
Nice win today Bama. Looked like a Bama team should in the post season. Kinda surprised at TCU Michigan score but I honestly haven't watched Michigan play this year so... Gonna go pull for the Dawgs to get another SEC championship...
Great win and season Vols! Excited to see where Heupel can take this program. 11 wins in season #2 is encouraging...
Defense came to play! I was pretty nervous the entire game but the Vols just played their hearts out and showed Clemson what SEC football is all about.. happy for Joe to get that MVP (although it probably shoulda been Beasley)... Next year... I dunno. Hope we can get back to 10 wins and keep this thing going!! Go Vols!!!
I just laughed and laughed... I hate the NFL but if stuff like this happened more often...
I mean, it's better than not getting a 5 star QB commit
I'm definitely looking forward to this one it's been a long time since we've played in a prestigious bowl game. Clemson definitely has a talent advantage as they have been pulling in top recruiting classes for years. That usually shows at the lines of scrimmage first hopefully we can hold our own. I sure would feel a lot more confident if we had Hooker, but this is JMs team now so hopefully he can shake off the overthrows and put it on them good! Go Vols! Go SEC win em all!
Congrats Dawgs! Obviously the best team in CFB this year. And probably for some years to come. Hoping the Vols can get back to being relevant so we can see some good games but tonight and this year is yours so enjoy! Looking more like TN will get Clemson in the Orange Bowl which sounds like a fun game to watch to me. Michigan isn't looking great against Purdue I think the trophy is going back to Athens again this year....
Agreed. Can't lose to SC like that. All the "gimmick" stuff is ridiculous tho. #1 offense in the country.. what exactly is your (fanboy) definition of gimmicky?
Overrated sack of baby diapers? I take offense to that sir...
