Conner McQueen has been announced as the new offensive coordinator for the FCS powerhouse Incarnate Word Cardinals.
McQueen was a backup QB for the Texas A&M Aggies from 2014-2016, appearing in 3 games over that span. After his playing career ended, McQueen transitioned to coaching. McQueen spent time as an offensive analyst at Oklahoma working with Lincoln Riley, and at UCLA working with Chip Kelly.
On Thursday night, the Cardinals’ Twitter account officially announced the hire of McQueen.
McQueen is now at the helm of one of the most high-powered offenses in football. The Cardinals averaged almost 600 yards of offense in 2022, behind only Fordham in the FCS. The Cardinals went 10-1 in the regular season before defeating Furman and Sacramento State in the FCS Playoffs. They would end up losing to North Dakota State in the semifinal round.
The Cardinals offense shouldn’t miss a beat under McQueen, as McQueen is considered influential in the development of Heisman winner Caleb Williams.

To the non-Aggies or younger fans, Connor was a walk-on, cult hero back-up during his time at A&M and is well-loved, so this actually is significant news. Wish him the best!
