St. Louis Gamecock

Look at it this way. If the ref swallowed his whistle more the game would move much faster!!! A win all the way around!
Oh yes, STL! I am of the age to remember streaking well! Although I never participated myself (wink, wink). And who can forget that Oscars moment? :-) This memory actually brought a smile to my face. But this Uber guy. This is America these days - sit on your duff and order your life.
Tom Petty, Hootie, R.E.M. All good bands, although for a while there I had to stop listening to Cracked Rear View as it was being played EVERYWHERE and it got old really quick! And I actually think Hootie’s follow-up album – Fairweather Johnson – was better than CRW. However . . . This is not even a contest, folks. There is no doubt of the bands mentioned, and the ones not mentioned, that the boys from Athens are one of the greatest bands of all time – R.E.M. Hands down. R.E.Freaking.M.!!!
Oh man. Fleetwood is one of the all-time great bands. Along with Athens own R.E.M.!
Indeed, Coozie! And I offer you a quote for reflection today. "Our good air decide to float over to China’s bad air. So when China gets our good air, their bad air got to move. So it moves over to our good air space." Mensa member, Walker
Here we go again with all the bad mouthing directed towards Bennett – kind of like what happened just about ALL of last year! All the more reason I hope SBIV walks away winning the Heisman! Bring it home, Stetson!
Amen, 88! Since I live amongst my Mizzou buds here in west county I've been chatting and texting with all my friends and family back home in SC (and some in FL). A great time to be a Carolina fan! I've always wanted for our program to become competitive instead of the kings of mediocrity we have been over the years. I love Beamer as our coach and truly believe we are headed in the right direction. But time will tell in the always-tough SEC. 31-30 will last a long time! Long time!
Maybe we did something to scare you BEFORE the game started??? :-)
I just hoping for a Carolina W so I can face my Mizzou neighbors the next day! :-) Seriously, love my Mizzou buds up here in West County. Good peeps!
I agree, GP. I believe Ga is the best of the East, possibly the SEC. Although UT has been a surprise with how good they just actually might be!
GP, because the writer and one fan so far has said they think Carolina wins vs FL does not mean we're all treating it as an automatic win. Rarely is anything automatic in the Swamp. Still, if anything, we SC fans are hopeful but realistic. Sure, KY was without their starting QB, but most thought KY would still win (so did I). It was a gallant effort on our part to get that win. And a win like that has us thinking positively about the rest of the season. One game at a time. I like how our team is progressing but we have work to do. We shall see. Go Cocks!
Don't you have some books you need to go ban? Or maybe some more women's rights you need to take away?
Woke's not even a thing. It's a made-up boogeyman from the right. And talk about whining. Check our the former guy, aka The Slobfather, and his incessant whining losing by eight million votes. Move on, pal.
When I lived in SC I went up to Boone several times - one time when App State was in the playoffs (back in the day) - and spent the weekend roaming the mountains. Boone is a nice college town and the mountains are spectacular. This is cool for App State and the Boone area.
I kind of like the 'M' on the side of the helmet best of all. I like the nice, square block look that really stands out.
"To go sit in a corn field begging recruits to follow." Stic5, you got me chuckling out loud here in St Louie!
Amen to that, GP! What's the deal with showing disrespect to your opponent anyway? Sure we may think another team deserves it - and maybe they do - but it shows more about my team when we do that than it does the other. Play hard and play fair and respect your opponent. And as GP says - celebrate with your team!
Ron Morris - oh my gosh! Reminded me of Herman Helms, part 2! Helms - that's a name from the past! But it doesn't hurt to be cordial with guys you coach against - especially since a lot of these guys use to work together. Heck, I have conservative friends I'm friendly to - well, some of the time!
If these are truly questions of concerns I'd then say that this is a pretty darn good football team!
Hey, I actually like ol Verne! Does anyone remember a sporting event in the 70s, I think, where there was no broadcast team - the network just showed the game and a few stats during the game? I wish we'd go to where we saw the game only, the stats were constantly updated and no broadcast team. No broadcast team = and no mindless chatter!
If one drinks soda, it should be Pepsi anyway!!! :-)
There are a lot of good rivalries but I give the edge to Michigan-Ohio State. I especially like when the game is in Ann Arbor with snow! I'd say the Iron Bowl is a close second. And I especially like Utah-BYU - especially when BYU gets beat!!!
We Carolina fans are fairly delusional at times – hoping against hope, year after year. No matter I’m predicting KY ends up #2 in the East. No doubt GA is top dog but I think KY loses to GA and maybe one other team (sadly, not Carolina) – maybe Tenn? I’m certainly not seeing four losses on their schedule this year. We shall see – that’s why we play the games; otherwise it’s just pure speculation.
