After winning its first SEC game since 2019, Vanderbilt is looking to make it a winning streak.
The Commodores are giving Florida all it can handle and more early in Nashville. Vandy went up 14-6 by recovering a muffed punt for a touchdown.
Cornerback Jason Marshall was unable to return a punt deep in Florida territory. VU longsnapper Wesley Schelling came up with the ball in the end zone. The extra point was good, putting Vanderbilt up 14-6.
Marshall is not Florida’s usual punt returner. Wide receivers Xzavier Henderson and Ricky Pearsall are both dealing with injuries on Saturday.
The Gators have had a sloppy first half, and the Commodores are taking advantage. Vanderbilt benefitted from a pair of UF penalties that wiped out third-down stops on its offensive scoring drive.
It’s 14-6 Vandy at the half. The game is airing on the SEC Network.

Go Vandy! Everyone's rooting for you!

Mike Wright looks darn good, sadly the Gators do not
Kudos to vandy. Florida does not deserve to win. Napier will have a lot to answer for after this. Last uf coach to lose to vandy would be Muschamp.
IF Vandy is able to get a win, AND if any 5-win teams are bowl eligible this year, Vandy should be at the top of the list.
They deserve Kentucky’s spot. UK gets in from playing nobodies for an easy 4 wins and then lucked out vs Mizzou and UF
I really thought Napier was a decent hire but losing to this Vandy team is inexcusable.
Wow. Vandy now up 28-12 over the Gators. Playing intense. Be aware UT.
Won’t be a contest. UK sucks and I’m not sure what happened to UF
Why try to fair catch inside the 10?
