CBS Sports' latest 2023 NFL Mock Draft features 13 SEC players in Round 1
The 2023 NFL Draft is only a few short months away, with players preparing for the upcoming NFL Combine.
When Roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner, steps to the podium, he’s likely to call a dozen or so SEC players’ names in the first round.
This week, CBS Sports analyst Kyle Stackpole released his latest projections for Round 1. As you can see below, he has 13 SEC stars going in Round 1:
- No. 1 — Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia — Chicago Bears
- No. 2 — Bryce Young, QB, Alabama — Houston Texans
- No. 3 — Will Anderson Jr., Edge, Alabama — Arizona Cardinals
- No. 6 — Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia — Detroit Lions
- No. 9 — Will Levis, QB, Kentucky — Carolina Panthers
- No. 16 — Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina — Washington Commanders
- No. 19 — Antonio Johnson, DB, Texas A&M — Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- No. 20 — Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida — Seattle Seahawks
- No. 25 — O’Cyrus Torrence, OL, Florida — Los Angeles Chargers
- No. 26 — Kayshon Boutte, WR, LSU — Dallas Cowboys
- No. 29 — Drew Sanders, Edge, Arkansas — Denver Broncos
- No. 30 — Brian Branch, DB, Alabama — Buffalo Bills
- No. 32 — Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama — Philadelphia Eagles
This is the first time I’ve seen Boutte in a first round mock since the season ended. He’s going to have to have a very good showing at the combine in order for this to become reality.
Is this a mock draft or just mocking?
