Clemson EDGE declares for 2023 NFL Draft ahead of bowl game against Tennessee
Tennessee won’t be facing Clemson edge rusher Myles Murphy in the the Orange Bowl later this month. It was announced Tuesday that Murphy had declared for the 2023 NFL Draft and elected to opt out of the contest.
With the decision, he forgoes his remaining eligibility.
“Not surprised,” head coach Dabo Swinney said Tuesday when asked about Murphy. “He’s a great player and I think will be a pretty high draft pick. I think he’s going to test well and work out well and all those things and be a great player for a long time.”
Murphy saw action in all 13 of the Tigers’ games this season, with 11 starts and has 43 tackles and four pass break-ups. Where he ultimately lands in the pros will be something to watch moving forward.
