How Nick Saban, other SEC coaches voted in final Coaches Poll
It was no surprise to see that Georgia was a unanimous No. 1 in the final USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll.
The Bulldogs capped off a 15-0 season and 2nd consecutive national title Monday night with a 65-7 destruction of TCU in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
TCU finished 2nd in the voting but there were some coaches who didn’t feel that strongly about the Horned Frogs.
In fact, Dana Dimel of Texas-El Paso, Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman, Jeff Hafley of Boston College, Will Hall of Southern Mississippi, and Pittsburgh’s Pat Narduzzi all voted TCU outside of the top 4.
Of SEC note, new Auburn coach Hugh Freeze voted Georgia at No. 1, Alabama at No. 5, and Tennessee at No. 6, and LSU at No. 14.
Georgia coach Kirby Smart, meanwhile, had Tennessee at No. 5 and Alabama at No. 6, as did Arkansas coach Sam Pittman.
Alabama’s Nick Saban saw things a different way, however. He voted the Crimson Tide at No. 2 and had the Volunteers at No. 6, even though Tennessee beat Alabama in October on a last-second field goal.
I agree with Nick…got to believe tOSU, Mich or TCU would rather have played Tenn than bammer…
I’m sure Saban took a Hooker-less Tennessee team into account with his vote.
Riiiight…
Fuzzy.
Would you believe me if i said that i have a 35+ year old man so worked up that he keeps posting the same thing on every single article in hopes to get me mad?
1998.
And not 35, gwhite. :-)
Not refering to you, Corch.
Of course…
Kirby put the Vols in the correct spot ahead of Bama. Laughable that Saban voted bama 2nd.
Gotta put TCU at 30.
Meeshigun disagrees.
Of course Saban voted his Gumps second. Not that they deserved it.
It’s just what they do down there in Gumpville: Whine about everything when they don’t get their way, and if they can, make everything about themselves.
Where are you SDS dumb dumb. Your posts are always brilliant.
