Walker Howard, LSU transfer QB, reportedly visiting SEC program
LSU transfer quarterback Walker Howard is reportedly visiting with the Ole Miss Rebels, according to Chris Hummer of 247Sports.
Howard just hit the transfer portal today and it appears that he’s quickly picking up a lot of interest — something that should not come as a surprise after how highly sought after he was as a recruit.
Howard was the No. 42 prospect overall in the 2022 class and one of the first prospects of consideration for coach Brian Kelly after he was hired at LSU. Several expected him to be the starter for LSU in the coming seasons.
If he is to go to Ole Miss in the end, his primary competition will be Jaxson Dart, who was a USC transfer as the starter for the Rebels last season for the first time over Luke Altmyer. After impressing several at the Manning Passing Academy, there is no question that Howard has the ability to be a program changer for wherever he lands.
LSU QB Walker Howard hit the @247SportsPortal today, and things are moving quickly with the former top 50 prospect. @Rebels247 reports he will visit Ole Miss today. And I'm hearing TCU expects him to visit at some point this weekend. https://t.co/4YyFRDEW5C

Louisiana online sports betting is officially live in much of the state. Louisiana joined the handful of other SEC football states with legalized sports betting in January 2022.
It would be a good pairing for him and Kiffin but it seems he’d have just as much competition behind an experienced QB as at LSU. I think he winds up at TCU with former LSU WR Bech. Someone is going to get a very talented, if inexperienced QB.
Would like to see him in “red and blue.”
That’s a bit of a surprise to me. I was thinking Auburn or UF from the SEC, or TCU like Nobleman suggested. I’m guessing he is willing to sit one more year, but not two.
He sure isn’t going to Florida where your NIL deal is a #1 combo at micky d’s and a bus ride to the stadium from the housing parking lot.
