Ole Miss DB, 2021 Freshman All-SEC selection, announces transfer portal entry
Ole Miss defensive back Tysheem Johnson is looking for a change of scenery, as he announced via Twitter on Friday evening.
“First off, I want to say thank you to the University of Mississippi and the entire coaching staff,” Johnson tweeted. “This was a tough and difficult decision but with the support of my friends and family I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal. Thanks to my teammates for the binds we created, we’ll be brothers forever. Lastly I want to thank the fans from the Oxford community.”
Johnson finished out the 2022 season with 78 combined tackles (38 solo) and 2 passes defended. Ole Miss received a lot of disappointment in its overall defensive unit which must improve moving forward, and it will be interesting to watch how much of an impact Johnson can make elsewhere.

78 tackles, safe to assume he’s a safety. Great job for a FR!
Vols could still use him, but we really need top tier CBs the most!
