Kirk Herbstreit blasts USC and Caleb Williams over fingernails, questions Lincoln Riley
Kirk Herbstreit blasted Southern Cal QB Caleb Williams on Monday morning during College GameDay on ESPN, as he called into question the Heisman Trophy winner’s painted fingernails, which during the Pac-12 Championship Game spelled out “F— Utah.”
“That represents Lincoln Riley too, they need to clean that shit up,” Herbstreit said.
The sophomore QB is responsible for 47 touchdowns (37 passing, 10 rushing), which is the most in the FBS this season and in USC history. Williams is also one of 2 FBS players in the past 5 seasons with at least 4,000 total yards and 5 or fewer turnovers.
Williams previously did it for opponents throughout the season, and has said it’s a tribute to his mom, who he’s said has done nails most of her life.
Williams, however, didn’t paint the nails for the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
For those wondering, Caleb Williams won’t be sporting any nail art for the Heisman ceremony this weekend. Just glossy nails for New York.
“I’m gonna be in a lot of suits, so I went plain,” Williams said.

since when has competitiveness or profanity been an issue in cfb?? if caleb had painted the same thing on his arm, it wouldn’t have been an issue. y’all are so sensitive to freak out about a guy’s nails
Curious to me that Herbstreit used (what some would consider) profantiy to criticize William’s use of profanity.
Herbie makes his point by doing the same thing the kid did. He can say it, Saturday Down South can print what Herbie said, but I can only reference it. Got to love the hypocrisy on every level.
Who cares what he wrote on his fingernails…Utah kicked his @$$ and made him cry..that was the best response to it…
Exactly. Tulane made him cry again.
One he11 of a stupid excuse for poor sportsmanship and a lack of class. I put fu ck team on my nails to honor my mom. Yeah right.
Extremely poor sportsmanship. It’s not surprising. It’s a reflection of the culture we’re all living in. In a word, it’s a “mess.”
“California culture”, media please get this, the rest of the USA does not think it’s ok for a State to ignore immigration laws. And foul language, written or spoken is not ok to see or hear during the coverage of the COLLEGE sport. This is not a race or ethnicity right of expression. Rather it is low life behavior seeking to hang on the coat-tails of college men and their competition among themselves. Don’t be a low life journalist by making us see, hear, read the low life thugs that sneak into college sports thru USC or any other “win at all costs” program. Just vote them out of big name bowls…. As if the D1 had a real “playoff” like the D-II and D-III and FCS???? no stop promoting the lie of the “FBS playoff”
Herbie can drop S bombs but we get censored for saying p00p
