TCU LB Dee Winters: Georgia 'didn't do anything special' in 65-7 National Championship romp
Georgia made history with its 65-7 national championship victory over the TCU Horned Frogs, quickly quieting the crowd that doubted the team’s ability to go back to back.
TCU safety Dee Winters says that Georgia didn’t do anything special to secure a win that could not have been much easier. That’s not at all a slight directed at the Bulldogs, but rather has everything to do with the fact he believes TCU’s issues came more from beating itself than anything Georgia did.
“You know, defensive-wise, they didn’t really do anything special,” Winters said. “We just kind of beat ourselves up. Kind of just executed on our mis-alignments and kept scoring on those. We just kept beating ourselves up, just overthinking, trying to run too fast to the ball and things of that nature.”
With a performance this dominant, it’s easy to believe Georgia is college football’s next dynasty team, but there’s also plenty of respect to be had for how far TCU came as it put together one of the best turnarounds in college football of 2022, arguably only second to Tulane.
Why were they misaligned……..BFFR
Bffr is crazy… thought I was the only one on this site that knew what it was lmao
Lol I’m a Millennial so unfortunately (or fortunately?) it’s in my lexicon
Finally someone around my age on here… tired of seeing these 40-80 year old people on here arguing about random s**t.
You silly hillbilly
Jay meant “Be *ucking For Real” not “Butt *ucking For Rent”

I don’t think anyone will be scrambling to schedule Tulane for an opponent in the foreseeable future like they were for years.
NC Game, UGA, TCU, defensive alignment, Tulane … you hitting the snake bite medicine early today?
Huh?
When you lose 65-7 you did a BUNCH of things wrong. Many were so obvious even a European soccer fan could have seen them. When you lose 65-7 in a National Championship game that you earned your way into? Well, it seems to me than the only real explanation for that is that they were 58 points better than you are.
LSU really needs an in-state rivalry. If Tulane were to stay on the path their currently on, they’d be a great rivalry for LSU.
We could really use one too.
Georgia Tech?
In the SECE TCU lands somewhere around USCar, Mizzou and UF, at best a 7-5 team
Georgia was just bigger, faster, stronger, better coached and more physical than TCU. Pretty straightforward. That 3-3-5 defense was simply inadequate for a team with so many offensive options.
I did not think a 3-3-5 would work either. Completely wrong defensive scheme for Georgia, and Georgia ate it up.
That’s exactly what Saban said right before the game.
He just mad that they lost LMAO
“TCU safety Dee Winters says that Georgia didn’t do anything special to secure a win ”
UGA played big boy football. Throw, run, catch, tackle. No trick plays. No gimmick offense. He’s not wrong.
If anyone wants to hear something really funny, go find audio of Kirby Smart’s pregame locker room “speech.” It’s old school, potty mouth Full Metal Jacket style yelling.
I don’t know why some fans hate Kirby Smart. I like old school yelling. It’s fun.
Was just listening to it. I have a love/hate relationship with these leaks
Yes. Sounds like Gunny in the locker room! I’m sure the half time locker room “talks” when GA is behind were even more…ummmm…glory, glory.
Gunny was a real motivator.
“Was just listening to it. I have a love/hate relationship with these leaks”
I’m sure the Karen’s of the world are fainting over it.
They ran 3 reverses and handed the ball to their TE several times. Those would be considered gimicky. Doesn’t change the fact they whooped TCU’s @$$.
Top 4 SEC teams outscored their opponents 246-89 this postseason. All of those games were against teams that played for a conference championship, outside of Ohio State. Yikes.
As to your Kirby comment, he’s fun to watch. He has already built a machine at Georgia that will continue to grow. The next 5-10 years are going to be scary. He keeps kids at Georgia and doesn’t have to go into the portal. Something Bama and Saban are struggling with. As it stands today, in my opinion, UGA > Bama. Not all time tenure for Saban. Program’s position for success TODAY.
All the pressers kept saying how the SEC was down again during the beginning-middle of bowl season. How many time in the past 10 years has the SEC won the championship? Well, there you go.
They not saying that anymore after the SEC went on a 6-7 game streak.
This is good but nothing beats the 2021 WLOCTP halftime speech, an absolute classic
Old school blood-makes-the-grass-grow yelling! Fun stuff before all the Karens and millennial tw1nks came about
I’m old enough to remember not having to wear a seatbelt.
FTMF.
Oh, let him be. They had a good year.
Go Dawgs!
