Alabama linebacker Will Anderson, one of the top defensive players in college football, has won the Rotary Lombardi Award, it was announced Wednesday night.

The award is given each year to the college player “who best embodies the values and spirit of NFL coach Vince Lombardi.” A player must be a lineman who set up within 10 yards of the line to qualify for the award.

Anderson is the obvious choice for this award. He’s been just as much of a terror on defense as he was last season, totaling 51 tackles with 10 sacks and one interceptions return for a touchdown.

Anderson is a projected 1st round NFL Draft pick and will make a GM very happy. He’s the 2nd Alabama player to win the Lombardi Award in the Nick Saban era, joining Jonathan Allen who won the award in 2016.
