Kentucky announces return of former offensive coordinator Liam Coen
Former Kentucky offensive coordinator Liam Coen is headed back to Lexington to serve his second stint with the team, as the Wildcats announced Tuesday.
Coen most recently served as the Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator after he was previously at Kentucky in 2021. NFL insider Chris Mortensen originally broke the news and Kentucky football made the return official Tuesday.
“I’m very excited to welcome Liam and his family back to Kentucky,” coach Mark Stoops said in a press release. “It was evident that he made a dramatic impact in the one season he was with our team. He brings a great deal of knowledge, and he also brings an excitement that players and recruits can relate to.”
This is a big gain for Kentucky, which will look to get back on its feet after a disappointing 2022 season in which it fell short of the expectations with a 7-6 overall record.

If Leary from NC State stays healthy, that offense will be potent.
Let’s hope so!
Huge! Welcome back!
Hot Dog!
Best news we could have today.
If the O line is a lot better and I mean a lot then KY could be potent with better offensive schemes.
This is a huge win for the Wildcats of Commonwealth Stadium. I see the East as improving even further next year and this helps give some optimism that Kentucky can keep pace. Georgia will be what they are. Milton looks like he’s figured some things out and TN will be very good. SC shocked some people and the win over Clemson showed that the TN game wasn’t a fluke. Florida will continue to get better- just signed another top 10 recruiting class and have some consistency in their HC. Mizzou’s defense was very solid last year. Vandy will be build on their wins over FL and KY and be better. I know we are just one day into the off season, but I’m excited about next year. Let’s go Cats!
Found this tweet saying the contract was actually signed on December 12, it had a scan of the contract confirming the date if anyone wants to see it:

Interestingly, the contract was entered into on December 12th. #bluejohnson made his prognostication about on Dec. 8th (or at least that’s wen we talked about it), Morty broke the news on Dec 9th, and news broke of Leary visiting Kentucky the day Liam signed the contract.
Ky still has a RB issue. The RB from Vandy is ok but stoops needs to get a RB out of portal ASAP
That is great news! I think he needs to immediately sit down with coach Yenser and discuss the O-line situation.
