Kentucky will lose one of the most highly-ranked recruits it’s landed in recent memory, especially for a lineman.

Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports reported that offensive tackle Kiyaunta Goodwin is headed for the transfer portal. Kentucky landed the 6-foot-8, 351-pound offensive tackle over a long list of notable programs, including Alabama, Michigan, Michigan State, Georgia and Texas A&M. He appeared in 11 games, but it was largely in a backup role and on special teams.

Northern Illinois left tackle Marques Cox recently committed to the Wildcats out of the transfer portal and he’s expected to take Goodwin’s spot on the roster and in line to be a starter at tackle in 2023.

Goodwin as a recruit was a 4-star offensive tackle with an eye-popping 63 offers. He ultimately became the No. 1 player in Indiana, and the No. 6 offensive tackle of this class.

Goodwin was most known for his prowess in the weight room. Goodwin lifted 495 pounds on he bench, and shared it on social media. Earlier, he showed that he’s already ready for the NFL Combine when he lifted 225 pounds 34 or 35 times.
