Star North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye, a sophomore signal caller who some believed should have been a Heisman finalist, announced Wednesday that he will be staying at North Carolina.

This is significant because there were many rumors that Maye would be transferring from the program following his 2nd year.

This news will make a lot of people in Chapel Hill very happy.

Maye was simply phenomenal for the Tar Heels this year. He threw for  4,115 yards, 35 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. He’s been one of the top 5 quarterbacks in the country this season by most accounts.

Cool to see that there is still some loyalty in the college game with the transfer portal seeing record numbers.
