There’s been some shakeup in the College Football playoff picture recently with one of the most notable things being the elimination of Alabama.

It’s been ages since this team has been firmly out of the mix, with the fact the Crimson Tide are ranked behind 9 other teams currently perhaps the hardest thing to wrap one’s head around. They’re not the only team in the SEC who garnered CFB Playoff attention ahead of and during the season, though.

At this point in the year, college football analyst Heather Dinich sees a scenario in which 3 Southeastern Conference teams could make it into the race.

“If LSU does win the SEC, Tennessee is sitting there, not just with any win against the SEC champs, they hammered them,” Dinich said. “That was one of the most impressive wins of the season. The higher bar and where that argument comes into place is in Oregon, sitting there… they have a real opportunity down the stretch to boost their resume.”

There are still scenarios for Georgia, Tennessee and LSU to find its way in but there are multiple factors there to evaluate.

Georgia, which appears to be the most likely to get the top seed at this point, faces Mississippi State up next at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday in Davis Wade Stadium.
