AD Mitchell is headed to the Big 12, per a report.

According to On3’s Inside Texas, the former Georgia receiver committed to Texas on Friday night. He had previously been linked to the Longhorns after deciding to enter the transfer portal earlier this week.

Mitchell spent 2 years with the Bulldogs and earned a reputation as a clutch playmaker. He scored 1 touchdown in all 4 of Georgia’s College Football Playoff contests while he was with the program.

However, Mitchell was never able to carve out a consistent role in the offense. He also missed much of the 2022 season due to an ankle injury. He leaves Georgia with 38 catches for 588 yards and 7 touchdowns in his career across 2 seasons.

Mitchell will be much closer to home in Austin, Texas. He’s a Lone Star State native, having attended Cane Ridge High School in Missouri City, Texas.

Mitchell was a 4-star prospect in the class of 2021. He will have 2 years of eligibility remaining with the Longhorns.
