Joe Milton had some highlight throws on the big stage Friday night in Miami as Tennessee takes on Clemson in the Orange Bowl.

Milton has resumed starting quarterback responsibilities for UT since Hendon Hooker’s season-ending injury. While this isn’t Milton’s first start of the season (he started the regular-season finale against Vanderbilt), it’s his first appearance for a big-time national audience this season.

With the college football world tuned in, Milton has been showing off his cannon of an arm, launching deep balls seemingly effortlessly. In the first half, Milton was 13-of-18 for 155 yards and a touchdown.

Milton’s arm has fans and media members talking on social media. There’s more, of course, to being quarterback than just having a strong arm. Despite the highlight throws, Tennessee has just 14 points, low by Josh Heupel-era standards.

Milton and the Vols are up on Clemson halfway through the game. We’ll see what they have in store for the second half.
