Desmond Howard still isn’t sold on LSU despite the Tigers coming off a victory against Alabama.

The ESPN analyst made an appearance Friday on “First Take” and gave his opinions on LSU, as well as undefeated No. 4 TCU.

Howard believes Big 12-leading TCU is on “upset alert” against Texas on Saturday night. However, Howard believes TCU is worthy of the playoffs if they win out.

“I think that’s the team that people think is not going to survive, just because they have the most difficult remaining schedule moving forward,” Howard said. “But if they’re able to run the table then they’re more than deserving of being in the top 4 because of the difficulty and strength of schedule and all that stuff.”

Meanwhile, Howard wants to see how LSU finishes down the stretch before proclaiming the Tigers are back. Howard cites LSU’s loss to Tennessee as a factor for why he isn’t riding with them yet.

“LSU’s been up and down, Stephen A. I’m not a person that subscribes to that knee jerk overreaction after a team wins a big game,” Howard said. “People forget a month ago, the Tennessee Volunteers rolled into Baton Rouge in the afternoon and ran LSU out of their own stadium…To me, the jury is still out because they’ve been up and down.”

LSU has a chance to clinch the SEC West if it defeats Arkansas and Ole Miss falls to Alabama.
