Mississippi State sees quarterback, former 4-star recruit, reportedly enter transfer portal
Zach Arnett will reportedly lose some depth at quarterback with the news that redshirt freshman QB Sawyer Robertson, a Texas native and Class of 2021 4-star recruit, has entered the transfer portal.
Multiple reports, including Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports reported the move. Robertson redshirted last season, and this past season appeared in 5 games.
Here’s a rundown of how he played in each game: Memphis (9/3): Made his collegiate debut in State’s season-opening win over Memphis … at Arizona (9/10): Had his first collegiate completion go for a seven yard gain … Bowling Green (9/24): Went 3-for-4 for 18 yards in the win over the Falcons … ETSU (11/19): Had five passing yards on 2-for-6 passing … Ran once for a gain of eight yards.
The 6-foot-4 and 215-pounder is from Lubbock, Texas and was the No. 133 player in his class by 247Sports, and in Texas, was the No. 22 recruit, according to 247Sports.

You will probably get a more experienced QB.
I have no idea what Kiffin is going to do. Hopefully Dart significantly improves after year one like Corral did. Regardless, NEED depth at the position.
I think this year showed how big a pair of shoes Corral left to be filled. I think Dart is going to have to develop more as a leader before y’all can get back where you left off in 2021.
Kiffin’s waiting on Bama. Problem is, his head coaching gig at Ole Miss is his Bama job interview, as he sees it, and he has to win win win to secure the Bama job. And that’s even just assuming Sat..ban finally retires in a couple 2-3 years.
zach_attack,
Spot on about Corral.
insensitivityismyname,
Lay off the crack. It is not lost on me that there are better jobs than Ole Miss (Although we have grown significantly in last 5 years and transfer portal/CFP is the tide that lifts all boats cc:TCU). Nobody in their right mind would want to follow Saban. Kiffin certainly could want to be the guy that follows the guy that follows Saban.
No surprise there, new OC coming in and we have Parsons now as well.
I figured we’d get a few more to leave…I’m excited to see what Parson does for us though!
I’m interested in who else from the offense will leave. I really don’t expect many (if any) more.
Expect a couple of receivers. I think Harmon moves to TE
I’m curious about TE. Even a lot of air raid guys use them, so leach not having them or recruiting them most of ours are gone. Seems like that would be a portal target for a new oc.
I kinda forgot about TEs honestly lol
We’ll probably lose at least a couple more.
It’d be nice to lose you.
Aw, come on babe, we’re in public.
Guess this means the Air Raid is probably over. I’m happy with the state our offense is in, I feel like we have plenty of options for whoever the next OC is. Got a great couple running backs, and the personnel to execute a pretty reliable passing game.
Not sure what the future holds for Rogers, but for all he’s done for our school and the quality guy he is I’d hate for him to lose his starting job senior year.
Good point, he is a heckuva guy. If Sawyer stuck around Will’d probably have something to worry about; I think he’ll be alright, though. EXCEPT for, unless Arnett draws up schemes for a pocket passer, with no more Air Raid Will may not be athletic enough to stave off an untimely injury running a good bit more. He already looks like an epi1eptic when he tries to run.
exactly. Rogers words himself were, I run like I got concrete in my shoes.
Some squats and deadlifts may take care of some of that awkward as he11 running.
Lol. I didn’t know he said that. That’s what it looks like.
I never saw that catch in the bowl game coming in a million years, but that was pretty cool.
