Zach Arnett delivers perfect response when asked what Mike Leach would have thought of his first game as head coach
Zach Arnett is taking over as the head coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs after the death of Mike Leach at age 61 last month.
Arnett’s first game as the leader of the Bulldogs was Monday’s ReliaQuest Bowl, which Mississippi State won 19-10 in dramatic fashion.
After the game, Arnett was asked what Leach would have thought of his first game as the Mississippi State head coach. Arnett delivered a perfect response:
Zach Arnett on what Mike Leach would think of his first game as head coach: “I think he’d be pretty mad at me for some of that bad clock management.”

“I think he’d be pretty mad at me for some of that bad clock management,” Arnett quipped.
Still, a 19-10 win is a win, so Arnett should be proud of the way his team played in honor of its late coach. It was a fittingly bizarre ending for a man who loved nothing more than the oddities of life.
God bless HC ML & God bless State. Fitting end to the ML Era at State.
No Coozie comment zone. Leach hater up to the last moment.
Dude go on somewhere. It’s amazing how it’s only ole miss people who troll…… get a life. Enjoy your bowl wi…….oh wait
Right? I mean I guess they don’t have anything to celebrate right now so this is all they can do.
Rob, I’m a 3rd generation MSU grad. My daughter is a 4th. Coozie is/was a Band member that hated Leach. Give me a break.
If you are old enough to have a daughter in college, you should know better. Riding another MSU fan because you disagree with him is not particularly classy.
HAIL STATE!
So glad State got the W for Coach Leach today. RIP COACH!!!
I like this Zack guy. Can we keep him for a while?
