Joe Burrow shares how he manages his emotions, and uses motivation to gain an edge
Joe Burrow has a growing reputation of using motivation to gain an edge. As the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback gets set to play the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship on Sunday, Burrow explained how it manifests on the field.
“I try not to play that way,” Burrow said. “I try to play without emotion because that’s when I feel like I’m at my best and I feel like you have to be that way as a quarterback. You can say what you want in the locker room, and to you guys, and then when you get on the field it’s all even keeled, can’t be too high, can’t be too low because bad things are going to happen throughout the game. If you get too low, it’s going to be tough to get out of.”
Burrow is trying to get the Bengals back to their second straight Super Bowl, and this week was named among the finalists for the Associated Press 2022 NFL Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year awards.
