Kirby Smart is ready for the Peach Bowl as Georgia prepares to take on Ohio State on New Year’s Eve.

Smart said at a press conference on Wednesday that he’s “happy and fired up to play in what I’ve always thought was one of the best bowls in the country. Atlanta is home to so much of college football.”

Some of the injury updates are still a ways off because the game is more than 2 weeks away, but Smart said Ladd McConkey and Warren McClendon have not practiced.

“We’ve been practicing — not specifically for Ohio State. We’ve been practicing to maintain staying in shape … I don’t know when exactly we’ll get those guys back,” he said.

McConkey appeared to re-aggravate a left knee injury against LSU in the SEC Championship Game.

McConkey caught a 22-yard pass from Stetson Bennett in the second quarter and came up limping after he was dragged down on the sideline by 2 LSU defenders. He didn’t return to the game, and was seen on the sideline in street clothes for the second half.

McClendon appeared to suffer a lower-body injury when he was pass-blocking and was rolled up on by a teammate.
