Raymond Cottrell, 4-star 2023 WR, flips commitment from Georgia to new SEC school
Raymond Cottrell, a 4-star 2023 WR out of Milton, Florida, was originally pledged to Georgia, but didn’t sign with the Bulldogs during the early signing period.
Now, he has announced that he is committing to a new SEC school and flipping away from Georgia.
As you can see below, Cottrell announced via his Instagram on Monday that he is now committed to Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies:
Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Cottrell is the No. 24 wide receiver in the class of 2023 and the No. 35 overall recruit from the state of Florida.
The Aggies now have 19 players in their 2023 recruiting class. Prior to Cottrell’s flip, that class ranked No. 13 in the nation, per 247Sports.
Below, check out some of Cottrell’s high school highlights, courtesy of Hudl:
That’s too bad for UGA. Maybe the additions from the portal made him question his ability to play early.
Or maybe ATM pulled out the checkbook
And a big deep checkbook it is.
Yep it looks like he’s holding dollar bills on image.
I bet that big deep checkbook is gonna provide y’all with the ultimate Natty watch party next week.
As though Georgia did not?
Kirby has said theyll pull in offense from portal as needed and will focus recruiting more on D.
Makes sense as there D schemes are insanely complex and takes time to learn, where as their offense is more traditional and just needs experience and proven talent to fill in the blanks.
Good luck in championship(dont think youll need it) but remember that back to back rings isnt a dynasty yet.
To the next few seasons of good match-ups, as UGA has become the new Clemson, and well see how long they last.
A short run of national championships is much better than no championships at all. Nothing lasts forever, but Kirby is looking like he may be able hold it together for a while.
And your coach is 71, mine is 46 and better. Let’s see how that works out for you.
Lets see how u came to the conclusion that your coach is better;
is 1-4 in head2head matchups, less number of championship rings, lower percentage in wins and overall number of wins.
Has won more rings since hes left, the lists goes on and on..
And this is the first year missing the CFP, so id say we’re are pretty good in short or long run.
I know math isnt a thing in assthens so try reading what your going to post out loud first, it may save you from posting stupid sh!t like this.
Just remember bullpups, anything yall do, has already been done by the Tide years in advance.
Let the man go pick up his paycheck in peace. He can always transfer to a school with a winning record next year.
Paycheck in Georgia, paycheck in Texas, it’s all the same. And no transfer necessary next year, thanks anyway.
If not for the not so small matter of $86million, Jimbo would be gone. But good for you. A&M can afford to keep throwing more money at it. Word to the wise. Money cannot buy happiness.
I wonder if this was under his own volition or if he was encouraged to find a “better fit”
I thought the same thing.
We all know that anyone would was committed to Georgia transforms from a great player to not worth having the moment he flips.
Totally wrong read, no a single word uttered about Cottrell’s level of talent.
Barring any as of now unknown transfers at the WR position UGA returns a lot of WR talent and experience next season – Mitchell, McConkey, Smith, Rosemary St Jack, Blaylock, Bell etc
Loaded at TE in 2023, even if Washington goes to the NFL
Picked up 2 very talented, very productive, SEC veteran WR’s in the portal
Very talented and very fast WR’s signed in the current WR recruiting class
UGA on the verge of signing probably the best ever TE class with Deuce Robinson trending for UGA; 2 top-10 TE’s already signed and practicing
UGA will be a tough place for a WR to earn snaps and especially targets early in one’s college career
Knew this was coming once UGA got RARA and the transfer from Mizzou
GA is losing the QB and Kirby is known to dump players like an old sock.
They got lucky OH State missed a FG and MI sucks. Dog dynasty is almost over, they played (2) tough teams and cream puff for the final, TCU, who stinks.
Better to have a short dynasty, than no dynasty at all. There isn’t a fan base at any other school in the country, that isn’t envious of UGA having a shot at a back to back.
Bama baller you are the new Clemson, an even worse Clemson perhaps. When you go 31-1 and win two nationals in a row that’s what UGA could’ve always been with a coach. Your lucky time is now gone and your coach is in his last couple of Bobby Bowden years. LSU will win the west next year and you may not finish second. You had a great run. Now your third place. So deal. Don’t try to slide in a slight on UGA. Nice try though.
Clemson recently is still has more successful then the bullpups ahahaha
Yall get one little ring and think yall are a blue blood or something.
2 rings in 40+ year ahaha ill even go ahead and give this years and make it 3 in 40. That said, Compared to a program that has had the number of rings your program has had since it formed and did it in the past decade.
“that’s what UGA could’ve always been with a coach” ahahaha
This is the first time in ur programs history yall have been relevant. Only other time was the 80’s and that decade is owned by Miami.
Bullpups are a second tier program even when they winning.
I hated the secret pro NCAA a lot more, but I’m still going to have to quit attending NCAA games. Sorry money bag boys, there are just better
sporting stories out there than who has more money to ruin the college atmosphere with, Luckily the NCAA still has far more amateur divisions and they play an entertaining game
UGA got Miss St leading WR and Mizzou leading WR in the portal. Also signed 2 other 4 star WRs.
Everyone signed on NSD but him. Looks
like he was bumped from the class. Good luck to the kid.
