Malik Hornsby, former Arkansas QB, commits to new program
Former Arkansas quarterback Malik Hornsby is headed to Texas State.
The Bobcats formally announced the move Monday, welcoming the ex-Southeastern Conference signal-caller to San Marcos. It’s a good change of scenery for Hornsby in terms of being able to have the chance to see consistent on-the-field action, something he didn’t get a lot of over 3 seasons with the Razorbacks.
Hornsby, who returns to his home state of Texas, started his only game in relief of an injured KJ Jefferson back in October. It ended in a 40-17 loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs as he completed 8-of-17 passes for 234 passing yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. He also added 114 yards on the ground.
How exactly Hornsby is utilized will be something to watch as he’s played both quarterback and wide receiver, projecting to do better at the latter position once he makes his way to the NFL level.

If he’d committed to playing WR this past season he’d have helped our offense by stretching the field. Whoever is in his ear saying he’s got a future at QB is hurting his pro career.
very fast but not very bright…glad to see him go.
Malik was in it for himself alone.. no concept of team. Happy to see him somewhere other than Fayetteville
With Criswell and Singleton coming in, he never had a chance, he’s not built for our offense. Good luck to him though, humility is a very beneficial life skill
