Jacob Warren, Tennessee TE, announces plans for 2023 season
The high-octane Tennessee offense was so much fun to be a part of during the 2022 season with Hendon Hooker and a little bit of Joe Milton at the end that tight end Jacob Warren wants to come back for more in 2023.
The Knoxville native announced on social media on Wednesday that he will be returning for 1 more season in orange and white.
The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Warren was only a small part of the Volunteers’ powerful offensive machine in 2022, collecting 12 catches for 163 yards, with a long reception of 45 yards. But Warren also might be seeing a lot more playing time in 2023, with fellow tight end Princeton Fant declaring for the NFL Draft before the Orange Bowl victory over Clemson.

“I believe I have more to prove in this chapter of my life,” Warren wrote in his announcement on Twitter, along with expressing his appreciation that he’s been able to live out his childhood dream of playing for the school in the city he grew up in.
Warren has collected 37 receptions for 416 yards and 4 touchdowns during his 4-year Volunteer career that began in 2019.
Last year was Warren’s redshirt senior year, so he’s got 1 more season of eligibility and he intends to make the most of it with Milton now at the controls of the Tennessee offense.

Sports betting in Tennessee officially launched on November 1, 2020, and many of the largest sportsbooks are live and operating in the volunteer state. Tennessee is only one of a handful of SEC football states with legalized sports betting.
I understand it’s become the new thing for players to do this, but outside of die hard Tennessee fans, no one has ever even heard of this kid. It’s just odd to me that every single player feels the need to take to social media and make an announcement. It’s even odder that SDS feels the need to write an article covering every one. I guess I’m just an old man yelling at clouds.
He is a local Knoxville kid that plays for the Vols and popular in the community. Good blocker, will need to catch more passes next season!
Exactly! No one heard of Jalin Hyatt either. Coaches making good players great is news, “Old Man Yelling at Clouds” Wish I had a cool Native American name like you.

Thank You!
I agree 100%
People were saying he was just gonna give up on football next year on the radio just not even play and we are super slim at tight end.
