Ju’Juan Johnson, 4-star 2024 ATH from Louisiana, has 2 SEC teams in his top 3, sets commitment date

Ju’Juan Johnson is a talented athlete in the 2024 recruiting class out of Lafayette, Louisiana, and is highly sought after on the recruiting trails.

The elite 4-star player has narrowed his list of schools down to 3 and has also set a commitment date.

Per a tweet from Johnson on Monday night, 2 SEC programs — LSU and Florida — are still in the mix for his commitment, which will take place on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 10:30 a.m. Central time:

The Tigers and Gators will compete with coach Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes for Johnson’s services in 2024 and beyond.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Johnson is the No. 28 athlete in the class of 2024 and the No. 4 overall recruit from the state of Louisiana.

  • Hard to pull one of those guys out of Louisiana.. if lsu wants him it will be hard to get him to go out of state

    • Not so fast! It’s hard to pick against LSU for a Louisiana kid… But, this one’s had a very peculiar ending to his recruiting cycle.

      He only visited LSU once, unofficially back in October. The Gators offered him in very late December and he immediately visited in mid January. He also visited Colorado and Texas in January. The guy recruiting him at Colorado was his recruiter at LSU prior to joining Coach Prime’s staff in December. The guy recruiting him at Florida is Corey Raymond, of LSU DBU fame.

      My guess is that the battle for this kid’s commitment is now between Florida and Colorado, but I won’t fully eliminate LSU until he chooses a hat on Saturday.
