The Big 12 is reportedly reaching a big deal for media rights with ESPN and FOX, according to Sports Business Journal.

The 6-year media rights agreement with ESPN and FOX is worth $2.28 billion, which averages to $380 million per year. The extension will run through the 2030-31 season. There are 2 years left on the Big 12’s current contract, which is annually worth $220 million through the 2024-25 season.

It’s a huge victory for new Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark after uncertainty swirled about the conference’s future outlook.

ESPN gets 12 of the top 20 picks during football season and will also televise the Big 12 football championship game and the basketball tournament championship game.

The Big 12 is losing cornerstone brands Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC, but improved parity in the league reportedly helped convince FOX to make the deal. The FOX package will include 26 football games each season on FOX and FS1.

The Big 12 is adding BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF next season.
