Josh Dobbs says arm was going forward on decisive fumble in Titans-Jaguars game
Josh Dobbs and the Tennessee Titans left Jacksonville heartbroken Saturday night. In a battle for the AFC South title and a playoff berth, the Titans fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-16. The game-winning score came on a Jacksonville recovery of a turnover ruled a Dobbs fumble.
The Titans were up 16-13 with 3 minutes to go and had the ball. On 3rd-and-6, Dobbs was in the pocket when the ball came out as he was tackled by Rayshawn Jenkins. Jacksonville’s Josh Allen recovered the ball and returned it for a touchdown. The play was ruled a fumble on the field and confirmed by replay officials upon review.

Dobbs, a former Tennessee Volunteers standout, felt his arm was going forward and attempting a pass.
“I felt like my arm was going forward,” Dobbs said after the game, per The Tennessean. “When you throw the ball and the ball goes forward after the guy hits you — I’m a physics guy. It’s pretty simple that it’s going forward. But as I said, I haven’t seen the play. So I don’t know when he hit me in the act of throwing. When you’re on the road, they do a great job of not showing replays of big plays. I’ll check it out on film and see, but that was definitely a tough one.”
Dobbs, making his second-career NFL start, went 20-of-29 for 179 yards and a touchdown and an interception. He also had 32 yards rushing.

Honestly looks like Jenkins punched the ball forward to me.
Same.
Who cares? Titans weren’t winning anything this year. May as well get best draft pick we possibly can so we can waste it on another bust.
His arm was coming forward but he didn’t have control of the ball. The offensive line was atrocious so trying to argue over whether it’s was a fumble or not is a loser’s mentality. We still had a chance after that but 3 out of 4 pass rushers were running free in the backfield.
1. No way that was a fumble his arm was coming forward before his arm was even hit. Check the slo mo
2. Quickest review in NFL history
3. If that’s Brady, Rodgers or Maholmes that’s an incomplete pass
4. Yes we weren’t going anywhere but hate to get jobbed out of the playoffs by refs
You didn’t get jobbed. Take off your orange tinted glasses and look again. No way can you conclusively tell that he has control of the ball as his arm is moving forward.
Once again check the slow mo replay. You can see his fingers on the top of the ball when his elbow starts forward. Agree it’s close but you can’t tell me that didn’t deserve a 20 second review
It obviously was close. He has to have control of the ball with his arm going forward. I don’t see it like you do. The refs didn’t see it like you do. The replay official didn’t see it like you do. I’ve read several articles on it. No media members I’ve read see it like you do. You might want to let it go.
Ok. 40 13

Isn’t it interesting that you need glasses dingle berry…
Lol!
Go Vols!
Dude, I was watching the game–and I’m a Dobbs fan–but this was ABSOLUTELY a fumble.
The arm WAS going forward… but it was moving that way because the defender hit him!
Very clearly a fumble.
AGREE!!
It was probably going to stay whatever it was called on the field just from how close of a call it was. Though, that was one of the longest fumbles I’ve ever seen, almost made the first down marker.
Kinda like Stetsons fumble last year during NC game. Deal with it
It’s Downings fault every first down was a run except 2 and our o line was awful with no nfl caliber receivers and the injuries this year man sad sad year for the two toned blue
Is that Tennessees only team now?

Isn’t it interesting that Georgia has so many red necks…

Typical Georgia fool. Lol!
The arm was coming forward and the ball traveled across the line of scrimmage a few yards. Maybe the ref should have taken a physic class! I wish all the refs would be replaced by AI. Just put a couple of them field to break up fights and place the ball where they are told! Humans take payoffs!
