AFan...I've felt this same way about NIL since it started. NIL money could go into a collective fund spread around to the starters, 2nd string, etc, payable only upon graduation. If a player leaves early for the NFL then they forfeit their money because they're getting paid anyway. Some of the money would be allocated for education and children's resources in the poorest communities. Would solve a lot.

Giving up Howard made the most sense in the long run. Nuss needs to be the backup next season cause we may need it with happy feet Daniels back there. Kelly knows it and chose Nuss over Howard. Howard may have a bigger upside than Nuss (or he may not), but Howard has to a longer way to go to realize his than Nuss does. If all goes according to plan, Nuss starts 2 years after JD leaves giving us stability at QB for the next 3 years. Now, Kelly's challenge is finding someone to succeed Nuss in 3 years cause I doubt R. Collins sticks around. That general qb situation is going to be the name of the recruiting game for most teams moving forward.

NIL money goes into a general fund for the team, distributed evenly among players, only to be claimed upon each player's graduation. A portion goes to the poor communities these players often come from. While we're at it, sports figures could make an order of magnitude less, spending the rest on education in each state according to population, etc. Yell at me all you want, but sports money is ridiculuous and everyone knows it.
