Hayes: Nick Saban knows the end is here. Just look at his final, desperate ballot
Bama is probably the best two loss team in the country. I would put Michigan 2nd behind GA because they only had one loss. Bama is better than TCU and Ohio State. I still think the washed up business is wrong. He needs a good OC and he is back in business.
Most folks don't understand that pro football is a different game than college football. I don't care about pro football. My heroes are Tim Tebow, AJ McCarron, Brock Bowers, Stetson Bennett and that QB guy from TN that threw the ball lights out before he got hurt. He might play pro ball, he might not. He may become a great coach or a great business man. He is a winner with nothing left on the field to prove.
I hope Brock Bowers has one more year. That will help out the new QB quite a bit. I also thought the play calling was terrific. They seemed tight vs OSU but really dialed up last night.
I saw today a quote from a TCU staff member from yesterday. He said "TCU has already won just by getting here". That sums up the attitude of the Big 10 and Big 12 ( the Pac 12 does not even matter). Michigan does not really care about the post season and it shows. TCU had a great run, but they fell flat. The SEC does not stop until the natty has been won. I predict the Gators will win in 2029. You heard it here first!
Terrific game with terrific play calling. I was very happy to see Brock Bowers and McConkey get involved early. I thought that was missing vs OSU. TCU was not as bad as last night looked. When an inferior team with inferior athletes starts falling way behind, turnovers and mistakes almost always follow. Still glad they beat Michigan. Go Dawgs!
Congratulations to Georgia. This is possibly the best team I have ever seen. How bad is Michigan? How bad is the Big 12? Hats off to the SEC teams that played them kind of close.
When Tennessee is good, the SEC East is a lot more fun. Hopefully the Gators will be up there eventually. Congratulations Vols on a great season.
These 5 star ratings are assigned when a kid is 16 and 17 years old and playing against high school competition. Stetson Bennett is 25 years old and his experience and moxie are a big part of his success.
Too bad Tebow does not enjoy adult beverages!
The college game is not the NFL. It is NCAA football. He is outstanding as a college QB. He is the leader of his team and they are undefeated and defending national champions. I hope he gets a shot at the next level, but even if not, he will always be a championship QB. p.s., he could sell insurance or investments, or new cars and he will be a success in life.
Well, LSU and Ohio State have really good offenses and so does TCU. I expect a high scoring game. GA needs to stop the penalties, especially pass interference calls.
Great game, great judgement calls. My controversial opinion is this: Saban and Alabama tend to tighten up in big games when things are not going well. He gets real conservative and he doesn't fully trust his athletes.
Bryce Young is one of the finest young men in college football. The knock on him is that he does not have prototypical NFL size, but he is smart and a leader. Best of luck to him.
Based on the results from the two games Saturday, I think the committee had it exactly right.
Great win LSU. This has been a great weekend all around for the SEC and a bad weekend for the BIG and their two new members ( USC and UCLA). My "expert" analysis is the top of the SEC really played well and up to potential. Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss were disappointing. Happy New Year everyone.
They have to get Brock Bowers much more involved. He only had a few catches and that dude is a beast.
Wow, what a day. Huge respect for OSU. They were embarrassed at home and they came out fighting. Kudos to GA for hanging in there and finding a way to get it done. P.s. Don't overlook TCU. I think they have a real football team! Can't wait.
Great game by Alabama. So glad they got the win.
Great Game. I am always happy when Michigan loses. Please note that Blue does not show up for bowl games. They have lost 6 in a row. I guess that Big 10 schedule against Indiana, Purdue, and Illinois has them all tuckered out. So fun to see a new team in the Championship.
Great game. Thanks Vols! You restored my faith in the SEC. I think these Tennessee folks might have a real football team going on!
I think he is still a project QB. His ability to run around and make plays will be diminished in the NFL with much faster defensive players. Just ask Johnny Manziel how it worked out for him. Give it another year to learn from Shane Beamer and mature.
I hope UGA wins, but it would be a mistake to discount OSU. They played Michigan even for 2.5 quarters and then appeared to give up the game. Hopefully, it will GA by a bunch so I can go to bed early.
It should be a decent game. Kudos to the players on both sides that chose not to opt out.
I do have a problem with SEC teams playing Samford and Mercer and that caliber team. Scheduling teams from the Group of Five conferences is perfectly acceptable. It is still a likely win for the SEC, but at least they are playing a D-1 school.
I know there were opt outs and all that. But this looks bad for Ole Miss and bad for the SEC.
All the classy folks live in KCK.
Alabama's two losses were not because of a lack of elite players. It was penalties, missed assignments and poor discipline. Very un Saban like. The staff are going to work overtime this offseason to clean that up. They could be scary good next year.
I think MSU gets the win. They are playing an Illinois team that faltered in the second half of the season and does not have any recent bowl game experience. As much as I hope TN beats Clemson, Dabo always has Clemson ready for their bowl game. Clemson only plays two or three real games a year, and they typically show up. Who knows, let's just enjoy bowl season.
My issue with the Gators was the poor effort and terrible execution. All those penalties were just not excusable. I did not expect Florida to win the game. I was kind of surprised they got put in this bowl in the first place. But they just killed themselves with stupid mistakes.
The problem this year was not recruiting. It was poor coaching and poor execution by the players Bama has. Penalties, missed assignments, missed field goals. They should have won at LSU and TN. Saban knows how close he was.
