Micah Mazzccua, talented OL formerly in Big 12, announces SEC transfer destination
That’s more like it! Great get over stiff competition. This guy will help a ton!
You do not have to like him but man he earned the respect. Well done! This dude is a world beater!
Congrats to all the Dawg fans. Your team left no doubt this year. Way to represent the SEC!!! I have gained a lot of admiration and respect for both Kirby and Bennett. True competitors. Well done!

Good get...Hopefully this solidifies a top ten class.
Not to be negative but I gotta be honest here...if we are going to play with Georgia, we need better than "Scout team player of the week," linebackers. There were plenty of better options in the portal in my opinion. Still trusting the process but we are gonna need some dudes on defense to make this turnaround.
Johnson is a solid DB and a very good student with plenty of experience. He would have been accepted to UF or Vandy on his own merit out of high school. This kid could also play baseball for both schools. He is a solid character kid from a solid family. It is not a good loss for Florida. I do not understand this one or the two starting lineman leaving. I like Napier but this is concerning to me as a fan.
This article is a bit dramatic but it also speaks to a lot of the concerns I have with our program. I would argue that a dynamic QB with mental toughness is the only road to an 8-4 season or better. It is probably the only way Napier will keep his job. We will not be better talent wise next year, so solid QB play is the only way. I wanna like Napier and I think he is a great recruiter but it seems he is in a little over his head. He does not hate losing enough for me. The play calling is mediocre, the in game decisions are questionable at best and there is a disconnect between his post game comments and what is actually happening on the field. Like UT this year, we will only be as good as our QB next year. I do not think Mertz is the guy and Miller def. is not the guy. You have to give Rashada a chance and let Mertz play relief if things go south. Let the Qb's truly compete. If they are not cutting it, then you have to sit them and try someone else. Hopefully Spurrier does consulting in the off season.
I was not mentioning them together because of their skills but because of their ability to be mentally tough and over come obstacles.they are fierce competitors. None of them would be denied. Brady was drafted last and became the Goat, Mayfield was a walk on and won the Heisman, Jordan was cut from his JV high school program and became the Goat and Stetson Bennett has no physical intangibles whatsoever but still won a National championship for UGA. Richardson has never faced any obstacles like those. He has always been THE DUDE. When things started to go south and 92,000 boo’d him, he didn’t react well. It’s a hard thing to play QB at Florida. Most are crushed by it. You can’t be a mental midget.
All this talk about Coaches not helping players reach their potential is ridiculous. These coaching staffs have plenty of experience in helping guys grow. On top of that, these kids all hire private coaches as well. They have access to everything they need to be great. I really was hopeful for Richardson's success. How could you not with those intangibles? The problem was not the coaching. The problem was not the athleticism. The problem was not the injuries. The problem was the pressure and his inability to deal with it accordingly. It is not easy. If it was, everyone would do it. The great separator is mental toughness and drive. It is the reason why the Tom Brady's and Stetson Bennett's and even the Baker Mayfield's have success. They will not be denied. I watched every snap Richardson took. He did not want the success unless in came without resistance. He was good when things were going well and bad when things got difficult. It happens to a lot of superior athletes because things have always been easy. Nothing was ever easy for Jordan, Brady, Mayfield. Bennett etc. which made them tough. You have to be mentally tough to play QB at Florida. The mob is fickle and the expectations are unhealthy. Statues looming outside the stadium and fans chanting "Tebow, Tebow, Tebow ," every time Chris Leak threw an incomplete pass. If you play QB at Florida you better be mentally tough and Richardson was not. It is not a knock, it was happens most of the time in sports. If he is gonna excel he has to get over that mental hump but to do that you really have to want it.
Nash, please do not try to be logical and level headed. There is no room for that on these boards. Hope all is well man.
That is my fear. I hope we are not that many starts into Richardson's career and dealing with the same mediocrity, all while talking about the "potential," of his arm. Franks/Richardson's problem will never be lack of athletic ability or potential. Franks could not get through a progression to save his life. The game was to fast for him. Richardson does not have the competitive spirit and mental toughness. Those are intangibles that you have or you don't IMO. It cannot be coached into you. When pressure builds, Richardson does not deal with it to well. The QB position is played on an 6 inch field between the ears.
I am pumped that we dumped White off at UGA. We needed a change and Todd Golden is bringing some excitement to UF. I really like this roster. I think we will be able score in bunches. We might get out athlet-ed in some SEC contests but I think we will see growth in recruiting and offensive production with Golden. Pearl stated that Golden is already 7-10 points in the lead by the time the game starts with how he works the analytics. I will take any advantage we can get.
I believe Coach Napier has gone a little easy on Richardson. I do not need him to bash his QB publicly to the press, but also I think there needs to be some honesty. From my perspective, AR is overwhelmed and not handling the pressure that comes with being a QB at Florida. It is understandable. There are big shoes to fill. He deserves a chance to reach his potential but that does not mean he is beyond benching. Even Danny Wuerffel was benched early on in his career by Spurrier. Kitna deserves a look for how he has performed in relief of Richardson IMO. You cannot coach in fear of hurting players feelings and or fear of the transfer portal. If you are going to preach team first then that has to be the case with all players. Maybe there is more to it and the powers that be are strongly influencing Napier (in his first year) to play Richardson. Lots of money involved for sure. Especially through a powerhouse sponsor like Gatorade. One thing is for certain, there have been bench-able moments.
It seems that Coach Napier is willing to make changes and play the players who are playing the best. He has done it with the running backs now I hope to see it with Dean and maybe even at QB. This reminds me of the Stiner situation at safety position a couple years ago. I hope Wilson gets us back to being a school known for high quality safety play. Torrance has certainly carried the flag proudly. Dean has been a disappointment for sure. I honestly think that Richardson could have used the ol Spurrier benching for some of his performances. Give Kitna a look. It seems that Richardson is being to apprehensive to me. He lacks confidence which blows my mind. With all that talent he should be brimming with it. Also could stand to be a little more physical. Overall it seems that he is not very resilient mentally or physically. Playing QB at Florida is not for the faint of heart. I see a lack of competitive spirit. I hope we do not get into the mode of "waiting," for the potential to be fulfilled all the while going .500 for a couple years. I think that with our running game, we could win with a game manager like Kitna.
'The key matchup: Georgia TE Brock Bowers vs. Florida DB Trey Dean III.'
My hope is that Trey Dean will be so far away from Bowers that he finds himself on the bench. He has blown so many coverages in the last two years that it has cost us at least two to three important games. He should not sniff the field. It is time for our 5 star freshmen to step up and take over.
“They’ve broken our hearts, again, these Florida Gators. They’ve pulled our hearts out of our chest and stomped on them and our national championship dreams with their boots and they don’t care one bit. They’ll sing and cheer all night, and we’re left with broken hearts and the longest drive home tomorrow.”
This made my day like it does this time every year.
Go Gators...In all kinds of weather...
We are clearly unlikely to win this year because of our lack of depth on defense and erratic QB play but anything can happen. That is why they play the game.
Such a sad life.
Two 1,000 yard receivers and two starting cornerbacks? Are you serious? You are comparing apples to oranges. Sad.
Keep deflecting, it really brings out your insecurity.
What’s sad is you being here on your rival teams comments section thinking your team has done something significant. You won’t find me on UGA boards because I could care less about your program. I am simply reacting to a fan base that is so insecure that they would beat a team for the Natty and then come to another teams comments section and brag as if they have done something significant. I’m simply sharing that I don’t think it was that significant. You beat a depleted team. I would not utter a word about it unless it was not brought to this comment section. Your team doesn’t matter to me like mine does to you. Sad.
It’s hard to have an intelligent debate with someone who does not even understand the premise. It’s not about losing to Alabama in the SEC and then beating them in the Natty. It’s about beating a team that had significant injuries and was totally depleted in that National Championship game, then coming on another teams comment section and acting like you have done something significant. But I guess it helps you sleep at night to think it was legit.
That’s because you almost won it legitimately. Sad.
Just a sad excuse for a sad life lived on another teams comments section. Y’all are weirdos.
Kind of winning championships….y’all would count taking advantaged of a injury riddled team as legit. Whatever helps you sleep at night. Sad.
Man you love our team Sad. Like one of those weird stalkers.
@Dawgie
You sound so cool over the internet. I bet you are really something in real life. Always the most insecure clowns that try and tear down someone who has accomplished more in one day than you have in the entirety of your life. So sad.
A couple of towers coming in next year. Two 6’10 top 100 recruits.
He has a couple of great recruits coming in next year. Both are about 6’10. I’d like to see him combine the effort of the guys on this team with some athleticism. He is on the hot seat for me. 2 more years. If we are not competing for an SEC championship then it is time to move on. He has shown that he can recruit but he has to work on player development and adapting his coaching style to different players. Saying that, I would also be ok if he moved on after the season if we don’t make the tourney.
