So stet can never make the HOF cause he wants an All-American? I didn’t look up the rules but seems absurd if that’s the case…
Good for AD, I thought this year was gonna be huge for him. After a season like last year as a freshman. But injuries happen. Georgia’s receiver room seems to have some awful luck. Between him, Pickens, Arian Smith, Blaylock, etc. They all had so many flashes but injuries got them. I’m guessing injuries to receivers only count when you lose the game *wink wink* lol
So does TCU not belong? They backed in huh? Also beat the big 10 Champ and playing for a Natty. Also in the two years mentioned in this article UGA has beat Bama, Ohio State, Clemson, Michigan, Tennessee, LSU, and Oregon. With the first 3 being playoff regulars the past 5 or so years. Who else should they play?
DUDE!! Georgia and Tennessee both played at South Carolina this year! So there might be 14 other teams but TN wasn't one of them! lmao BTW Georgia is 14-0 and played the two top offenses in the Nation. In the last two years has wins against Clemson, Oregon, Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee!!
Just my opinions of the UGA Defense: - the LSU game is a bit of an outlier. The game was 35-10 at half. I don't care how much you preach intensity and what not, when you have a 25 point lead with 2 quarts to go and the playoff ahead. Players and coaches are gonna coast a little. Not saying they don't want to keep the margin, but play calls and effort tend to be more lax. - Ohio State has recruited at a top 5 level consistently and is always considered a top 5 team. They have talent for sure. They also did a great job of moving the pocket all night, the other part was Stroud. He reminded me of BY that game. He made something out of nothing multiple times. He was inches away from sacks multiple times and made big throws (also while saying this, you can't cover for that long. No matter how good the CB is. This is the reason 7on7 competitions have 4 seconds to throw without OL/DL). If he gets sacked on those magician escape plays its a 14 point UGA win. Hats off to him. He earned himself a couple higher draft picks and more money IMO. -I think UGA will have a plan for Duggan scrambling. Most times these type QB's you don't try to sack because it can hurt you on the backend. (That's why I think Ohio Sate did so well, escaping sacks and UGA didn't expect Stroud to do that) Also I'm not sure the OL/DL play of TCU is on the level of Ohio State.
If Tennessee didn’t play to win y’all should fire JH. No top tier coach goes into a game to lose. So stop with that nonsense. Just say UGA had Hookers number
Tennessee played to lose. Hooker has 1 td, 2 INTs, and 3 fumbles against UGA. #neverforget
For the 100th time with the 75 SOS… where does this come from??? Georgia has beaten 5 CFP top 25 teams. Not when they played. You yourself goes on a tangent about Georgia beating Oregon when they weren’t any good cause it’s early. So make up your mind. Stop twisting sh*t. Is it when they play or end of season?
I don’t think he has a shot to win it. But his big game moments are there. Where as nobody in the country ran away with it. In my opinion Bryce Young is the best QB in the nation. He won it last year but he had the “moment”. No finalist other that Bennett has shown out in big games. Saw a stat today showing how many attempts he has in the 4th quarter. Which backs up Murray’s point on his D and O on what he’s asked to do. But so far in big games he’s been unreal. Again he won’t win it. But stop with narrative he doesn’t belong. Because in big games he delivers and wins
This guy reminds me so much of Cam it’s crazy. Two things - First, a guy this physically talented should have been given a plan to succeed by his OC. Again Malzahn with Cam made things work, heck Malzahn turned a DB into a QB. This guys talents scared me because he’s the best on the field. You can’t account for it the qb position when it’s the best athlete on the field when they can run and throw. But the systems weren’t for him. (Actually I think mullen would have made him highly successful like the running QBs he had at state, but he sank the ship) Not saying they win the natty or he wins the heisman but they should have. Won 9-10 games with him. I just think they could have developed a heavy run system with some quick reads to make him succeed. Second, not sure how it works out in the NFL. Again sorry for the Cam reference but when his age caught up to him and his speed and strength were no more he didn’t have a roster spot. For years in Carolina when they got on the 3 or in, you knew what was coming. He was running it in, some way or how. And even NFL guys didn’t stop it. I’m watching the TV saying it, surely NFL DC’s saw it, but couldn’t stop it. Why couldn’t you take a similar player and have that success?
First I hate what happened to Hooker and think he should get a heisman invite. BUTTTTT so should Young. I disagree with the statement that Hooker was the best player in the SEC for most of the season. Watching games not many times did I say WOW that was all Hooker. Watching Bryce Young play I did it almost every game. He's the best player and did more for his team than anyone imo. Also Bowers has to be a top 10 player. Come on
Young is the best QB Judkins is the best RB Kelley should get coach for the job done. Winning an SEC division is a big accomplisment, especially 1st year in with what he walked into.
#3... I know these are bold takes and all. But the disrespect of the reigning championship QB is crazy. "Daniels will be the better QB in this game". Stetson Bennett is 26-3 as UGA's starter. Daniels is for sure a talented guy but I thought this was a reach.
gwhite, can you please explain the 75th SOS you always claim? I can't find it anywhere. SOS fluctuates weekly based on W-L. For instance Tennessee was 7-6 last year so preseason doesn't carry as much weight as their 10-2 record now. According to the end of the season AP poll Georgia had played 4 top 25 teams (4-0). Tennessee has also played 4 top 25 teams (2-2).
While I’m a UGA fan I have to agree with you. Georgia was an 8 point fave at home vs 1. You were 9 point dogs on the road. Klatt has been big on how hard it is to win on the road and he’s right. Top 10 teams usually win at home. 22 point road win is the best in the country. Does they make the Michigan resume better then UGA. I’m not sure if that. But they are 1/2 no doubt
The heisman is such a bs award these days. Bryce Young is the best QB in CFB. And it’s not even an argument. He’s the most calm, non rattled, and not much talent around him of any top QB. He legit has no threat that you are worried about as a DC. Maybe Gibbs but he’s a RB. Any other QB has threats, heck even Stetson has Bowers who stresses DC’s. Not one Bama receiver is a threat to break the game. And that’s not knocking Bama, I’m praising the job done by Saban and Young, because he’s still 10-2 and lost by 4 points total. It’s not even close either. That run around stuff Williams is doing is straight Kyler Murray and it looks good against lesser opponents but will backfire eventually.
I noticed this as well. End of the regular season poll and 4 top 25 wins. 2 of them on the road and 1 neutral site. Not bad. Still wondering where gwhite’s 75 SOS came from lol. Because based on this end of the season AP poll, Tenn and UGA played the same amount of top 25 teams!
Well they did beat South Carolina in SC. And didn’t make Rattler look like Mahones. Gave up 1 TD in the closing minutes of the game, same amount of TD’s Heupel and company scored!
Precursors to losses? We why didn’t you see Tennessee’s 2 losses coming? You were on here running your mouth. They have the #1 offense in the nation. Surely a smart guy like you can see it coming with all the stats you dig up… oh yea that’s right you have to play defense, special teams, and road games in football LOL
These are your 3 hand picked games to fit your narrative. Never mind the fact you left out a top 10 team to include mizzou. Meanwhile the season is 12 games. UGA is 7 in total offense and 11 in scoring offense. That is a STAT… available to look up on the NCAA website. Not a twisted narrative that only works for 1 side
I live in MS, and have several buddies who are state fans. Word on the street is Leach is retiring after the Egg Bowl. From pretty reliable sources. Don’t shoot the messenger but that’s the rumor. So to answer question 1… Yes it could be the last Kiffin vs Leach matchup.
I agree with the neutral site eliminating some of the crowd noise. One thing I don't think or I don't remember seeing or reading about was Tennessee's run game. I remember an article saying vs Bama Heupel stuck with his script of running on 2nd down to make sure he wasn't behind the chains and in 3rd and long situations. And another thing before the game saying how sneaky TN's rushing stats were. I think the Georgia's DL/LB play helped neutralize the run game and force 3rd and longs. Then the scoreboard obviously as well. When down 2-3 TDs fairly early and the D isn't showing signs of stopping the pass, you are not exactly trying to establish the run anymore. I feel like that didn't talked about a lot, but it was one of the things I noticed. Again, you never know about rematches though. Would definitely have fans in a buzz!!
So Heupel intentionally and potentially sabotaged his QB's Heisman bid? Because he was hands down the leader. You can't truly believe that theory. No way there are people that dumb in this world...
Against UGA moron. He has thrown 1 TD, 2 INTs, and 3 Fumbles in 8 quarters... I'm asking if Heupel will have an answer. Because from year 1 to year 2 it was a regression. Keep up
Most Georgia fans will say that Tennessee is a good team and give them their respect. (Gwhite just gets people riled up with his nonsense) They are a good team and you are right, anything can happen in a rematch. I think the domination thing comes in the form of Tennessee scoring 50+ on every team, including Bama, but scored their first TD with less than 5 mins remaining and the game was seemingly over. With the Heisman front runner not responsible for a TD. Again I'm logical and every team/player can have a bad game, and who know the location, weather, injury list of a future game. So not going to make any predictions. I will say as I have all year, JH has done a great job and TN has looked good all year. I'm glad the power is in the East.
Very true. But Kirby and company are some of the best at game planning and adjustments I think. I definitely have faith in the coaching staff. Will Heupel adjust? At least Hooker threw a TD pass in 2021! This year he regressed and didn't have any?!?!
I watched the game, not sure if you did or just checked the box score. I know which OL and DL looked better. Along with which QB, WR, CB, S, etc, etc, looked better. But congrats on the second half win. Do you get rings for that?
Hooker has 1 TD, 3 fumbles, and 2 INT's in 8 quarters against UGA. Heupel got a hidden scheme he's waiting to bust out? LOL
Wrote basically the same thing at the same time above. They didn't build those huge casinos by losing money!
I tend to agree. Vegas always seems to know a lot more than us normal people. I remember last year for the NC Georgia was favored over Bama. Which I thought no way at all after the first matchup. But Vegas stayed true and was correct. Same way with the UT/UGA game at 8.5 a couple weeks ago. Of course it is a game and anything can happen. But I would think OSU and Michigan in terms of OL/DL play. Tennessee's run game was stuffed and Hooker was rattled. Football is still a game that starts at the LOS.
