Kavosiey Smoke, Kentucky RB transfer, announces Pac-12 commitment
Kavosiey Smoke has found a new home, and the former Kentucky running back made the announcement on social media.
Smoke, who is listed at 5-foot-9 and 209 pounds from Wetumpka, Alabama, committed to Deion Sanders and Colorado.
Over 5 seasons with the Wildcats, Smoke carried the ball 291 times for 1,583 yards, which ranks 21st on UK’s career rushing list, and 13 touchdowns while averaging 5.4 yards per carry, which also ranks in the top 10 in school history.
This past season, Smoke played in 12 games, and started the first 4 games, as he had 59 carries for 277 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry.
Smoke made his pledge a week before the 45-day transfer portal window is set to close on Jan. 18, with a second portal window to open from May 1-15 following spring practice.

He sucked! Good luck!
He ran for better than 5 yards per carry over five years, but okay
That’s like how Cal cherry picks being in the top of 3pt shooting percentage, but being in the 300s in 3pt volume.
That’s a little harsh. The kid played and practiced here for 4 years. I never heard of any character issues. He backed up multiple starters and did what he could. Why not just wish him luck with a new opportunity?
Scared to run between the tackles, so isn’t going to be RB1 in any P5 conference, including the PAC-12. He’ll do just fine out there, and thanks for the commitment. When given the opportunity to step up, he didn’t do the work.
Good luck Kavosiey! I wish things would have worked out better for you at UK. BTW… watch out for that crazy buffalo they run across the filed on game day.
No heart, but he’ll sell plenty of NIL jerseys out there. LOL at the kind of transfers that Deion is getting.
I thought he was a decent RB, but he was never going to be RB1. I know the line didn’t help, but he didn’t show much in the first four games this year. Even when Kentucky was so run heavy, he couldn’t break a tackle. But he was fast in space. And likely wasn’t going to see anything beyond spot duty next year in Lexington. He should see the field more in Colorado. Hope he makes the most of it.
Say what you want but a lot of teams would love to have a back averaging 5.4 yards per carry. Best of luck to him.
