Keeshawn Silver, UNC transfer and former 5-star DL, announces SEC commitment
Keeshawn Silver, a former 5-star defensive lineman, has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.
Silver announced on social media that he would play at Kentucky, and he will have 3 seasons of eligibility remaining. Silver, who is known by the nickname ‘Big Kountry,’ entered the transfer portal on Dec. 8.
Silver, who arrived at North Carolina with high expectations, made just 4 tackles across 2 seasons with the Tar Heels. He was the No. 31 overall player in the country for the class of 2021, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Silver is listed a 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds. He’s originally from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and coming out of high school was rated the No. 6 defensive lineman and the No. 28 prospect overall by the 247Sports Composite. He received offers from coast to coast, including Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Oregon.
