Daniel Jeremiah releases 2023 NFL mock draft 1.0 and includes 12 SEC players
Daniel Jeremiah, an NFL.com analyst, is out with his first mock draft ahead of the 2023 event, and he has 12 SEC players off the board.
Jeremiah believes the SEC will be busy with the top 4 picks in the draft, which is scheduled to start on April 27 from Kansas City. One intriguing storyline will be the number of quarterbacks taken in the first round, and with the SEC selections and Ohio State’s CJ Stroud (No. 9 to the Panthers), Jeremiah believes 4 QBs will be taken.
Jeremiah putting Jalen Carter at No. 1 overall would mean that Georgia would have defensive players drafted at that position in back-to-back drafts after Travon Walker went to the Jaguars last year.
Here are the projected SEC picks:
1. Jalen Carter, Georgia DT, Bears
2. Bryce Young, Alabama QB, Texans
3. Will Anderson, Alabama edge, Cardinals
4. Will Levis, Kentucky QB, Colts
13. Broderick Jones, Georgia OT, Jets
14. Brian Branch, Alabama CB/S, Patriots
15. Nolan Smith, Georgia edge, Packers
17. O’Cyrus Torrence, Florida IOL, Steelers
19. Emmanuel Forbes, Mississippi State CB, Bucs
22. Anthony Richardson, Florida QB, Ravens
27. Darnell Washington, Georgia TE, Bengals
28. BJ Ojulari, LSU edge, Broncos
That would be another rare back-to-back. The only other time it’s been done was Mayfield and Murray in consecutive seasons.
I just couldn’t imagine drafting Levis over Stroud…
The most overrated QB in sports
Maybe just football :)
Big 0 is a DGD and one of my favorite players, but he won’t go in the first round – maybe not even the second. Hope I’m wrong.
I think there’s a pretty good chance that he will. If he doesn’t it’ll be because of his injury history.
That would make one heck of a combo …
Burrow having Chase, Higgins, and Darnell Washington as dangerous weapons?? Yes please!!
Oh please. No Jalin Hyatt. Id rather have him on my team than half the players on this list.
