Nay’Quan Wright is staying in the Sunshine State. The former Florida running back will continue his career at USF after 4 seasons with the Gators.

The Bulls announced Wright as a transfer signee for Alex Golesh’s program.

Wright, a former 4-star recruit out of Miami Carol City High School, joined the Gators in 2019. After a 3-game redshirt year, he made 26 more appearances over the past 3 seasons. In his Florida career, Wright rushed 167 times for 688 yards and 3 touchdowns, adding 29 catches for 332 yards and a TD.

Wright’s most productive season came in 2021 when he rushed 76 times for 326 yards and a touchdown, along with 14 catches for 178 yards and a TD. This past season, Wright made just 7 appearances as Montrell Johnson and Trevor Etienne emerged as a one-two punch in the Florida backfield. Wright, who last played on Nov. 12 against South Carolina, logged 47 carries for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns.

With the NCAA’s blanket waiver for the 2020 season impacted by COVID-19, Wright has 2 seasons of eligibility remaining.
