Cindy, If you’re not planning to can the juice, there’s no need to heat it further. You can store the juice in the refrigerator and consume it within a few days. If you’d like to keep it longer, freezing the juice is a great option.

I steam juiced my concord grapes and have the pot of juice sitting to settle. Is the heating of the juice necessary if it will be consumed right away? Lisa, It is not a typo. You need about 26 pounds of grapes to yield a canner load of 7 quarts of grape juice.
