Alabama flips preferred walk-on QB away from Mississippi State
Alabama has its quarterback position set for the 2022 season, as reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young returns to Tuscaloosa.
However, the Tide managed to add some depth to their QB room on Wednesday, flipping a commitment away from a fellow SEC West program.
As you can see below, Cade Ott Carruth announced via Twitter that he was flipping from Mississippi State to join Alabama as a preferred walk-on in the 2022 class:
After a great meeting with Coach Saban and Coach O'Brien and discussion with my family I’ve decided to flip my commitment to the University of Alabama ??Roll Tide!!! @Alex_Mortensen_ @AlabamaFTBL @HuskyFastNet @HuskyFast @joshfloydHT @QBC_Bham pic.twitter.com/piktIK5NbG

Carruth is a native of Trussville, Alabama. He has not yet been rated by any of the major recruiting services.
Learning from Young is something that can certainly benefit Carruth (and any other quarterback) down the road.
