Ricky Pearsall, Florida WR, announces plans for 2023 season
Ricky Pearsall is staying in Florida for another season.
The leading Florida receiver announced Saturday on social media that he is returning to the Gators for the 2023 season. Pearsall led the Gators in receiving yards and touchdowns in 2022 (33 catches, 661 yards, 5 TD).
I’m back…?

Pearsall will be entering his fifth collegiate season. He began his career at Arizona State in 2019. After 3 seasons with the Sun Devils, he entered the transfer portal and signed with Florida. The 2020 season, which was just 4 games for Arizona State, does not count against players’ eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Florida’s 2022 regular-season finale at Florida State, Pearsall had 5 catches for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Gators will hope to see more of that in the 2023 campaign.
Excellent news to have a great pass catcher return. I hope we now find a guy who can get the ball to him. No more hitting the opposing LB between the numbers.
Given an OL that can protect him, I think Miller could fill that role. I’d still like to get a better look at Max, though.
For that crazy 13 million y’all should be able to get 13 great players!!!! J Rashada ain’t worth 10 % of that amount!!!!!
It’s these kind of crazy offers that is ruining college football!!! People need to just stop it!!!!! One high school QB with average stats making more money than some NFL QBs! This is just crazy!!!!!!
PS. Crazy doesn’t begin to cover it!!!!!
Negan
Negan,
While I do agree with you this post was about Ricky p coming back .. not Rashada .. why did you feel you needed to share that opinion when the article has zero reference to Rashada ?
The attention. LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT WHAT I SAID, LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately, the poor blighter is right this time.
Well on my browser this was the most recent article. Sometimes people don’t bother reading comments that are a day or so older!!!
Also I think it’s related. I mean a receiver needs a QB! The boards say Florida fans are angry about Rashada….
Once again, 13 million is just too much and he should have known they weren’t going to really pay that!!!! Since there are no NIL rules right now. Collectives are trying to get players to certain schools by offering what they either can’t or won’t actually pay!!!!! Recruits should know if it sounds too good to be true. IT PROBABLY IS!!!!!!
Nobody was ever going to pay 13 million for 1 good high school QB!!! I guarantee you that y’all could have had the Manning kid for half that!!!!!
I’m just saying that collectives everywhere need to stop promising so much money!!!! To begin with NIL was never supposed to be these collectives in the first place…
It was supposed to be companies that wanted to use a players name image or likeness having to pay kids for it!!!! NIL was never about schools buying players!!!!! Yet it has become just that because of greed!!!!!!
Saban hates it because he was giving kids new cars and funneling money to them in different ways without getting caught. He has never had the stomach for a level playing field!!!!! I’m against NIL in the way it’s being used. I am for it in as much as it helps level the playing field!!!!!
Oh well, nothing is as good as it needs to be or once was!!!!!! I know my DAWGS just went back to back!!! Yet I’m still upset. Because I know when something is ruining a certain sport. I only hope we get this thing under control before it destroys this great sport!!!!!
PS. Tell Napier that he can buy 13 elite players with 13 million!!! He should know that!!! It should be common sense!!!!!!!!
Negan
Negan,
You do know the coaching staff and the university have nothing to do with any nil deals as those organizations are 100 percent separate ( ncaa law requires that )? So to say Napier is offering 13 million to this kid makes no sense . Again I think we all agree no high school kid is worth 13 million .. if you want to keep that thought going feel free but blame the boosters and collective for the money offer as they made it ( not the coaches or university ).
doc…….Naaaa Whats up doc??? Doc I have NEVER written anything for the purpose of LOOK AT ME!!!! I’ve had more than my share of the spotlight!!!!
You would know that if you knew me. But I’m sure lots of people try to get attention by saying things. I just have an honest opinion. I didn’t think Dawg fans would be interested in talking Rashada!
If y’all remember I said good get and congrats! I didn’t have a clue how or why he switched from Miami to Florida. I figured it must be related to NIL, but I was thinking something reasonable. Like a car and $500,000 dollars!!! Which I still believe is way too high for a kid straight out of high school!!!!
Anyway, no I do nothing for attention. Yes, I’ve trolled for fun. Everyone has at one time or another!!!! That is easy to spot…
This was me offering true feedback!!! Georgia has 3 former 5 star QBs. All of them had waaaay better stats than Rashada and to my knowledge. We didn’t have to pay them a dime. A few already had legit NIL deals but not just cash drops!!! Again waaaaaaay better numbers than him!!!!!
Now I know kids will take whatever you offer and WHY NOT??? Offering a kid 13 million is a terrible look especially if the collective doesn’t pay!!!!!
Why?????
Because now every other talented kid that Napier talks to. They will day, where is my 13 million??? Some might not even talk to Napier if the collective stiffs the kid!!!! Word will get out that Florida doesn’t pay or ask for 13 million!!! Either way Florida football is SCR?W?D!!!!!!!
I’ve been around long enough to know ITS AN HONOR TO BE THE STARTING QB FOR THE GATORS!!!! But these kids don’t know what we know!!!!!! Napier should have NEVER allowed anyone to offer anyone that much!!!! And it should have absolutely stayed a SECRET either way!!!!!
That story is now going to be an issue in recruiting. Unless Napier comes forward and says listen. The collective offered this kid and had no right to offer so much. Because we aren’t buying players at Florida. From now on the collective will offer normal payable amounts only and we will keep the ncaa guidelines as much as we are able!!!! Meaning NAPIER NEEDS TO DISTANCE HIMSELF FROM THIS OFFER AND DO SO QUICKLY!!!!!
PS. This is just something I feel strongly about!!!!

Bravo-6?
Happy to have him back! Glad to get a little good news finally
Maybe Ricky knows something about our QB situation that the rest of us don’t? I sure hope so. It’s either that or he landed some NIL money to hang around
I’m thinking he must have a good feeling about whoever the QB is going to be if he’s decided to come back and boost his draft stock.
Imagine how good this kid would have been with a pure passer.
Great to see. Hope he does really well in his final year, stays healthy, and his stock goes up in the 2024 draft
This would ordinarily be good news if not for the fact that Billy Boy could not find a QB to get him the ball. The SunBelt experiment is costing us big time
Man alive, buddy – who peed on your grits and redeye gravy this morning?
Got a feeling someone hijacked or spoofed palley’s account , this ain’t the real cojones
Definitely doesn’t sound like him.
Either that or he finally sobered up and recognized reality…lol
A really bad take. And I’m a bit surprised coming from you.
Billy had NOTHING to do with that drama. In fact, the ONLY reason this class was able to stay intact (sans Rashada) was because of CBN.
I’ll say this. He is the only coach of the last 4, that could weather this BS storm.
Sad to see you lose your patience, considering what we’re dealing with in Rashada. The sad fact is that the Gators were never going to be able to keep both Rashada and Lagway.
In the long run, which is what that QB battle is all about, I’d rather keep Lagway.
I would rather have a QB with Ryan Leafs NFL career stats than pay a freshman right out of high school 13 million dollars to please come play with us. This new negotiating with terrorists’ mentality is out of control.
And i never did believe that the amount was 13 mil. No college collective is paying that to a player. I don’t know the total and doubt anyone else on here does either. I am glad Pearsall decided to return, he’s worth something for sure.
That’s right Tailwhip. Nobody, least of all the media, knows how much Rashada was offered.
On Pearsall, I can confidently speculate that he got told he wouldn’t be a day one draftee and the collective then offered him a better deal to stay and raise his NFL stock and try to raise his NFL draft stock than the NFL would pay him in a rookie contract. If that weren’t the case, he’d have movef on to the NFL.
I just hope for his sake that Miller or Mertz get him the ball more often when he gets open than Richardson did. That alone will raise his NFL draft stock next year,
Black eye for the program, people naturally associate Napier with it. It am what it am, and we move on as we always do, perhaps a little damaged but we’ll recover. The real shame is that CBN didn’t need this nonsense right now.
So Cojones got hijacked? I didn’t even know that was really a thing, but it’s a good explanation.
I’m not sure whether he got hijacked or whether he’s going for extreme, stay-in-character, Gaga-trolling sarcasm.
That’s true, Nash – hard to tell. I mean, Ol’ MrTruth came out with some stuff the other day that was both hilarious and, to me at least, demonstrated why I’ve always thought him a deep thinker with a flair for the literary when he wants to do so. By the same token, our pal Cojones has the same knack to change it up for effect (related in the red leg sense as ‘firing for effect’, but with considerably less violence).
It’s probably sarcasm, but noteworthy at that.
Well if mee palley is going for the reverse psychosis sarcasm route…he really sux at it! He should sign up for the Humpy101 sarcasm class, I’ll even throw in a 7 day free trial…
Dunno Humper – he’s doing a pretty good job as is. I will admit, though, that when it comes to the spiritual gift of sarcasm you eclipse even me…and it’s my only spiritual gift!
