Georgia sees offensive lineman, former 2021 signee, reportedly enter transfer portal
Georgia will see a hit to its depth on the offensive line with reports that Jacob Hood, an offensive lineman who signed in 2021, would enter the transfer portal.
Anthony Dasher of UGA Sports was among those who reported the news.
Hood is the fifth player from Georgia who has entered the transfer portal. The 6-foot-8, 350-pound lineman did not see any snaps during Georgia’s 2022 national championship season. He enrolled early at Georgia but had ankle surgery prior to the start of spring. He’s from Nashville, Tennessee (Hillsboro).
Coming out of high school, Hood was a 3-star prospect by 247Sports, and was ranked as the No. 59 offensive tackle prospect nationally and the No. 20 prospect in Tennessee.
He chose Georgia over Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Miami.
Never could gain traction (literally) on the depth chart after ankle surgery rehab. I wish the kid a full recovery and hope he does well at his next chosen path, can’t teach size and he has plenty of it. If he stays healthy, has huge (literally again) potential to be a gamer…
Given his recruiting profile he was a project, one of the biggest guys in all of college football.
Image the upside if the kid can develop that elusive “bend,” some good foot work and quickness.
I recall either Kirby or the Pit Boss saying why they prefer the huge bodies – even if a huge O-Lineman makes a mistake it’s hard to go around him.
Going around this dude constitutes a road trip
I “LOLed” at road trip.
Come home to TN sir! Be good to have you in state!
Yes, Vandy could use him
We can put him to work.
We’ll take him.
No doubt our NIL is preparing to lure him with a really sweet and totally fraudulent offer right now.
