Ohio State pads lead as Georgia coaching staff faces questions
Ohio State raised alarm bells for Georgia when the Buckeyes came out in the second half, and scored early on a 10-yard touchdown pass with 10:37 remaining to lead 35-24.
That added to Ohio State’s 4-point lead and caused many to wonder about Ryan Day outcoaching the Georgia defensive staff, from Kirby Smart, to Will Muschamp and Glenn Schumann, the co-defensive coordinators.
CJ Stroud excelled in moving outside the pocket and connecting with receivers down the field, as the Ohio State quarterback was 18-for-23 passing for 292 yards midway through the third quarter.
Here’s a sample of the reaction:
Ryan Day has been a step ahead of Kirby Smart/Will Muschamp all night.

That vaunted @GeorgiaFootball D is being lit up!There’s ZERO pressure on Stroud and it’s just pitch and catch. As was the case with Michigan earlier today. The Dawgs defense played no one with an offense with this many weapons in the @SEC It’s a game of matchups and it favors OSU!

No pressure on the QB.
No prayer in man vs. the receivers.
Serious dilemma for Kirby Smart and Will Muschamp.— Kevin Scarbinsky (@KevinScarbinsky) January 1, 2023
