Kirby Smart met with the media on Monday to discuss the Peach Bowl and update players’ status ahead of Saturday’s game against Ohio State.

About injuries to WR Ladd McConkey and RT Warren McClendon, Smart said, “We’re excited to get those guys hopefully back, and we’ll see how they do this week.”

McConkey appeared to re-aggravate a left knee injury against LSU in the SEC Championship Game. McClendon appeared to suffer a lower-body injury when he was pass-blocking and was rolled up on by a teammate.

Ohio State QB CJ Stroud was recruited by Georgia, and Kirby Smart recalled what he remembered about it.

“Loved his mom, man,” Smart said. “What a tremendous woman … He has a really good disposition about him — not real high, not real low … He’s just matured … He’s become a complete quarterback there in their system.”

The Peach Bowl is set to kick off at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday on ESPN.
