Georgia vs. LSU: Attention shifts to SEC Championship Game after UGA completes undefeated regular season
Georgia has wrapped up the 2022 regular season by going 12-0 with a 37-14 Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate win over in-state rival Georgia Tech.
The Bulldogs dominated the second half. At halftime, it was a 3-point game (10-7 UGA), and midway through the 3rd quarter still a 1-possession game (13-7).
The win counts the same, but the fact that it was a second-half pull-away game as opposed to an early put-away game has some fans wondering about No. 5 LSU’s chance in the SEC Championship Game. UGA enters as a heavy favorite.
When the matchup was set following Week 11, Georgia opened as a 15.5-point favorite. The SEC Championship odds will constantly be updated right up until the game’s kickoff on Dec. 4 (4 p.m. ET, CBS). It will be interesting to see how the line looks once Rivalry Week is in the books. No. 5 LSU at Texas A&M is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Here’s a sample of what fans and media members are saying about the Georgia-LSU matchup on Twitter:
I don’t think anyone would argue that when UGA plays their best, they’re the best team in the country.
The problem is they have seldom played even close to their best this year.
LSU has a steep hill to climb next week, but it certainly feels doable.

As good as Georgia has been, You can’t help but notice how vulnerable it has looked at times this year – including today. #LSU has a very real chance next week.

Georgia can’t stop playing with its food. If that continues next week then #LSU has a shot. https://t.co/xNeW8pojhB

I think it's funny that some of yall think Georgia will show up with conservative game plans for LSU in the SEC title game.
LSU is one of the last teams on the revenge tour. LOL

People really want to act like LSU has no chance against Georgia next week? Georgia is great but they’ve shown tons of vulnerability as well this season

Georgia is not the monster everyone says they are. If they come out playing like this against LSU. LSU will bust their ass.

UGA just lucky today that Georgia Tech is a dormant team. This is bad football. LSU will beat Dawgs with the kind of opportunities Yellow Jackets have had today.

Hate to say it, but this Georgia team today…. Offense AND Defense…. is sleepwalking through the game. Both sides of the ball look like absolute trash. You're not beating LSU next week playing like this ???#GoDawgs#GTvsUGA@DawgNationDaily
