Texas A&M placekicker Caden Davis announced Monday via Twitter that he is entering the NCAA transfer portal and leaving the Aggies program after 3 seasons in College Station.

In a heartfelt tweet, the junior from Coppell, Texas, thanked the 12th Man for supporting him and being the best fanbase in college football. He also thanked the Aggies’ coaching staff for developing his talents.

According to Davis, he will go into the portal as a graduate transfer with 2 years of eligibility still left.

Davis was the backup kicker this season for the Aggies to sophomore Randy Bond.

Davis did attempt 3 field goals in 2022, making 1 of his kicks from 40 yards out in the season opener against Sam Houston State. That was the 1st and, as it turned out, only made field goal of his Texas A&M career.

Davis also made all 6 of his extra-point attempts this season.

In 2021, Davis missed the only field goal he attempted and made 1 extra point.

After redshirting in 2019, Davis has predominantly handled kickoff duties during his 3 seasons of action in College Station.

Perhaps Davis is looking elsewhere now for a chance to attempt more field goals along with all those kickoffs from the past 3 seasons.
